Michael_3165 Posted February 16, 2011 Share Posted February 16, 2011 Having quit watching WWE weekly years ago I have recently got back into the habit of catching it weekly since a few weeks before the rumble. I usually don't even watch the rumble but thought I'd give it a go. I can honestly say that - have enjoyed raw a lot since returning to it. I thought miz vs bryan this week (in particular) and the raw rumble matches were top notch. Some really gripping stuff as well as cena vs punk this week. If they can keep the role of decent matches weekly (or even bi weekly) ill probably stick with. It past WM Â As for The Rock returning... I think it was awesome! Every line, timing and content despite being outdated really worked. It is sad however that they need to rely on a current non wrestler to provide those goosebump moments because they have done nothing to make a new star. One thing I loved was how Rock ripped right into Cena's "you can't see me" gimmick, essentially saying what most older fans have been thinking for years. Â I am dying to see Cena turn and wrestle Rock one time! Won't happen but I can dream! Vito Posted February 16, 2011 Share Posted February 16, 2011 Amazing Raw with a couple of great matches and an absolutely fantastic finale, I don't mind admitting that I actually had tears in my eyes when Rocky said that he was back and that he's never going away again. CM Punk/Cena was excellent, Daniel Bryan gave the performance of his life against The Miz, John Morrison finally looked like a star and Rocky tore Cena a new one. The Lumberjill match and Orton/Sheamus were dreadful but The motherfucking Rock made it all better. Â What happened with Regal though? I watched a version of the show which was obviously ripped directly from American television as it occasionally had rolling news updates at the bottom of the screen, the ad breaks were very poorly cut out so I assume whatever Regal did was inadvertently cut out. But a few minutes before they announced Mania's Host, they said along the lines of "We will find out the Host of WrestleMania in two minutes!". Cut to adverts. Then on return in the ring is that weird girl from the HHH movie The Chaperone! Yes for five seconds I thought SHE was going to be the Mania Host. Thankfully my fears were erased, but from what followed made me go red. This little girl was not over with the crowd in the slightest, but it's ok, she was only going to say a few words then piss off. Shame they then proceeded to wheel out The Great Khali and the Kiss Cam. The little girl danced like e freak.....Khali danced like nervous Pedo at a school disco.... Hornswoggle got involved.....I held my head in my hands, it was a proper face palm moment. The only saving grace was William Regal. Â So in closing, they gave us one of the worst segments of all time, followed by one of the best segments of all time in The Rock's return. The King of Old School Posted February 16, 2011 Share Posted February 16, 2011 They need to do all they can to convince The Rock to wrestle Cena at mania, someone came up with a nice fantasy booking scenario for the match to happen at Mania 28, but in my opinion they need to strike now whilst the iron is hot. Â It's a shame they wont let Cena "go" on the mic like that, as i firmly believe 2003 Cena could tear The Rock a new one just like Rocky did to Cena on Raw. That has to be the real Cena in my book. He does think he is funny, he is a nice guy who loves entertaining the younger fans. Rapping Cena was a character that the Cena of the past number of years can't go back to without looking like complete wally. And if Cena tried rapping insults at The Rock, Rock would shoot him down in an instant. Would be counter productive for WWE to allow Cena to look like a prat. Most would say he has been doing that for years but the difference is the kids have been entertained. And besides, in a Cena V Rock feud the older fans would be behind The Rock andc the Kids will be behind Cena. Turning Cena full blown heel would not made sense. Â My Sky recording failed so I downloaded an American version of the show yesterday. The only part of Rock's promo that was cut was the first time he said 'ass'. After that there was not even an attempt to cut anything! I always thought the censoring came from the USA feed due to the PG status of the show, that is until my mate told me that Sky tried to bleep everything. That girl was so annoying, screeching and screaming throughout it, Hornswoggle gave her chocolates which she then dropped all over the ring and I was jealous of Yoshi Tatsu as he got to kiss Maryse. It was only about 3:45 am like.  Meltzer & Alvarez talked about the failed attempts at censoring The Rock's speech, so I think that was done by USA Network or WWE themselves rather than SKY doing it.
