Merzbow
SUMAC have just announced a third collaboration with Keiji Haino, I'll admit that I never quite clicked with a lot of Aaron Turner's work but Sumac and these collabs are so fucking good. wordsfromlee
The new Ithaca record is half an hour of pure brilliance. Best British metal band around at the moment? Could well be. Â
Merzbow
They're great people, too. I love the album and I'm seeing them with Pupil Slicer on Friday.

I was considering going to that too seeing as they pulled out of 2000 Trees last minute so I missed them there.
SuperBacon
Rage have had to cancel their European dates. Absolutely gutted but obviously hope he gets the help he needs.

WyattSheepMask
Yeah it sucks if you’ve bought tickets, but any halfway decent person would want him to be healthy and thus put on the best show possible whenever they do return. The Napalm Death gig (in addition to many others) that was meant to occur at Hull’s Tower Ballroom next year has disappeared from their listings. They are currently only selling tickets for 4 shows, when a few weeks ago they had about 15 planned which have since withered been scrapped entirely or moved to other venues (Cancer Bats now playing The Welly, Mastiff moved to nearby Polar Bear and so on). The sheer number of gigs that have been removed from their listings make me believe that some serious shit must’ve gone down and the venue is dead, which considering it only reopened at the end of March is very sad. Ah well, nevermind. Hopefully they'll make it up next year.

But you know there will be some thinking it’s complete bullshit and he should be performing regardless of medical advice

Yeah that place is dead, pretty much closed down fully at the end of last month it seems.

I'm sure they will make it up. It seems very much like the sort of thing Rage would do, and I'd be willing to bet they're pretty pissed at not being able to make the dates! To be honest, they were the only reason I was going. Well, them and Run The Jewels, and the only thing that can keep me from selling the ticket is possibly Slipknot filling in. And that's a big possibly. Alternatively, I might just go, take my eldest (as she gets in free) so she can see Beabadoobee and become Dad Of The Year

Soz Not my cup of tea, and although they are absolutely worthy of headlining, replacing Rage is just...well quite funny. Imagine how stressed the bookers must've been today. Sod that. SuperBacon
Rival Schools are playing 2000 Trees next year and also a date at the Electric Ballroom in Camden in July. Tickets on sale now, and they don't have to tell me twice. Booked!
