You're not the first, nor will you be the last! :)

In movie news-related-news, just spotted in the new issue of Empire that Mrs Brown's Boys is becoming a film, called Mrs Brown's D'Movie. So people will be pleased about that one.

I love Dumb and Dumber too. But I think it'll be a miracle if this film is even half decent, nevermind good.

The Farrelly's have released passable to absolute dogshit films for over a decade. The Uncut version of Dumb and Dumber is bad too, highlighting how less is more and someone needs to edit them.

I'm legit scared about it. I'll definitely wait for reviews.

Edit - Another picture where Carrey looks less ancient.

Peter Farrelly was on the Nerdist podcast a while back, and talked about how they literally had zero experience when shooting Dumb and Dumber, and outright said to the crew they'd have to help them out on everything because they just didn't know what they were doing. They were -- at that point, unproduced -- writers who somehow blagged their way into directing. There's a lot of interesting stuff on that show about the development of Dumb and Dumber, and how Carrey exploded so huge after Ace Ventura (which came out during D&D's pre-production) that his agent called up with increasingly high wage demands every week, as Ace Ventura was breaking box office records weekly. Carrey ended up getting $7m, which was almost half the budget, while Jeff Daniels worked for SAG minimum ie fuck all (and a percentage of the box office).

It's here if anyone's interested: http://www.nerdist.com/2013/01/nerdist-pod...peter-farrelly/

Has Jim Carrey done a good film? I'm sure there was at least one, but I can only think of utter shit he's been in. Definitely his heyday films were all atrocious. The best thing I can think with him in is Kick-Ass 2, and that's not saying much.

Edit: Eternal Sunshine was the one I was forgetting. I think I liked The Truman Show as well.

I really liked Burt Wonderstone.

I don't think Jim Carrey will go straight to DVD I think he's more likely to go down the character actor route in unexpected films. I hope so anyway because I really like him.

Thats awesome Astro thanks! Downloading now.

Get killed!

He'll never repeat the greatness of 1994. Ace Ventura, The Mask and ending the year with the masterpiece that is Dumb and Dumber! Aah...

More recently 'I Love You Phillip Morris' was a very good movie that was pretty much ignored.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or haven't watched any of them since you were about ten.

I watch them every few years with absolute pleasure, Dumb and Dumber is the clear winner.

Considering you probably watch RAW and Smackdown every week, I find your criticisms of my taste extra insulting!

Yeah, I agree... if you forget about the good films he's been in, he's only ever appeared in shite. Same with John Wayne.

The Duke has been in dozens of good movies i'll have you know. Certainly more than Jim Carrey, who outside the odd performance I have always found intensely annoying. I did like his standup though.
