I may not always enjoy his contributions but blanket banning people because we don't like what they add feels like a slippery slope. Obviously if it's a punishment as a result of his using a slur etc that's a different question, but one for the mods/the report button I reckon.

Yeah I think I was at the time just really pissed off by his use of the word, especially as it's something I've had to hear for a lot of my teenage years it doesn't fill me with joy. 

I retract my earlier comment, though I do feel it warrants a warning, though he does seem to have at least edited it now (though putting the new word in bold seems a bit silly too).

Absolutely and while you do still unfortunately see posts when they are quoted (I'll assume thats hard to fix?), there is always the ignore button if someone doesn't like a poster. That's not excusing the language, and you're right, it's for the mods to decide, but why people don't just do that I'll never know.
