Kizarny always springs to mind for me, although he lasted 66 days between debut and release. Honking look, honking music and honking move set.

And the build up vignettes for so long for him. Why did he get ditched? Was it just because he was shit?

Not even being edge's mate from childhood could help. He was THAT shit.

Inspired by this post by Lorne Malvo and, of course, by Max Caster being sacked by TNA for comments made within the first few seconds of his debut for the company.

I don't want to limit this to just sackings for bad behaviour, but what are the best examples of companies binning wrestlers following their first appearances?

Here's my pick - if it even counts...

moxley-kendrick.jpg?width=960&aspect_ratio=960:620

Brian Kendrick was dumped from AEW before even making his debut after clips of him resurfaced spouting out mad conspiracy theories including Holocaust denial.

He didn't even get beyond the graphic hyping a match...

Not having this about Hade Vansen. There's still time for the "Prophecy" to be..."Realised".

Fuck me that was a weird promo. Also the idea of Hade Vansen going from the FWA to fueding with The Undertaker is wild. Even now.

Buff Bagwell, WWF 2001. Wrestles once on a house show, once on RAW, his mum phones in sick for him after he gets in a fight with Shane Helms and he's gone after that.

Kronik, they squash Kaientai and then the lousy match against Destruction Bros at Unforgiven, and Clarke walks out and Adams is demoted straight after.

TNA probably has a shit tonne of these. Road Warriors turned up in TNA to make the save and then tagged with Jarrett and Dusty Roads. Randy Savage made a few appearances then does nothing in his 1 matches until the last 30 seconds, not seen again. Both were probably for the best.

For me, Test is the most egregious example of TNA bringing in an ex-WWE guy for a week or two before fucking him off. Came in after 7 years of doing absolutely fuck all of note, was immediately put in a main event angle with the likes of Sting and AJ Styles with virtually no history with anybody involved, and then disappeared after one match.

Christ, even Rikishi lasted over a month.

They fired him because he was too roidy even for them. He was fucking huge. Veins bursting out of his arms. Horrific.

James Storm's one appearance in NXT springs to mind. He wasn't fired but deciding not to sign long term after all and heading back to TNA was certainly a choice considering the stacked roster he could have had some outstanding matches with in NXT around that time.

Two (presumably inter-promotional) angles that never went anywhere that I don't think have been mentioned:

Jeff Jarrett attacking Hulk Hogan in NJPW, bloodying him up with a guitar shot.

Atsushi Onita and The Sandman getting into it in ECW.

I remember the Onita one seeming like a big deal very briefly - there was an assumption that we'd get a no-ropes exploding deathmatch or something.

The real Nature Boy Buddy Landel showed up in the WWF in late 1995, had a few matches and then sadly slipped on some ice and he was done.

While watching some WWF tv from 1988 recently, I was surprised to see old Memphis psychopath Jos Leduc (of cutting his arm with an axe fame) showing up as The Headbanger. He couldn’t have lasted long.

Someone who was discussed recently on here, when the Truth Commission showed up in 1997 one of the original members was Tank aka Mantaur, I assume Vince saw him and got rid of him quickly since he looked comically short and round next to the others.

In 1993 I was watching Worldwide and Scott Norton appeared and he looked awesome and was supposed to face Sting at Slamboree but he left very quickly and was replaced by the equally short lived Prisoner (aka our Nailz).

Scott Armstrong in the WWF in 1992 as Lance Cassidy the signing cowboy.

Wasn't Nailz actually kept on WCW's books for ages, despite never getting used?

Easiest payday ever.

He did a one shot against Sting at Slamboree '93 as a last minute replacement. Also some dark matches a few years later. Not sure he was ever under contract.

Lanny Poffo however, is a different story. Years on the books with WCW, zero televised appearances.

The Headhunters showing up twice in WWE and disappearing after one appearance both times.  The second time in 97 really stood out as I was right in the midst of my initial tape trading phase and had seen a ton of them in IWA Japan, so was disappointed to see them vanish again.

Oh yeah, you could probably get enough material for a book from TNA's short termers - The Nasty Boys, coming in, defeating Team 3D and getting sacked after disgracing themselves and the company in front of Spike TV executives at an event. Bubba the Love Sponge, Orlando Jordan and Sean Morley.

Then moving outside of the Hogan-era, you had...

Disgraceland!

An evil Elvis impersonator, who was feuding with the non-evil Elvis impersonators, the Flying Elvises (the first ever Elvis vs. Elvis feud in wrestling?) - he definitely had one match, which he lost, but may have had two, I'm not certain.

Big Fat Oily Guy!

A parody of an already awful character, WWE's Big Dick Johnson. He wrestled Christy Hemme once. More of a gimmick being binned quickly than a person though, he was with the company for years as Tiny the Bellkeeper.

The Johnsons!

the-johnsons-tna.jpg

A fairly well known one. The Shane Twins portraying wrestling penises. They appeared on TNA's debut show, wrestled again for them two weeks later then were dumped by the company. But that's OK, as they would go on to portray the wildly successful Gymini in WWE.

Jethro Holliday!

A slightly longer stint for Trevor Murdoch - a five month run in TNA in 2009 - my impression is that it's widely forgotten about though, and I'm mentioning it because around half of his matches aired online only.

I could keep going, but you get the point.
