That is the reply of someone who generally likes you as well. I have no gripe with you in general, this just seems massively out of character with how you come across, and to portray it as a triumph doubles down on the cuntishness.

I'd sooner be boring and law abiding than a cunt who tries to deflect from their cuntishness by throwing out insults.

Listen, each to their own, I'd just never refer to someone who's shoplifting as a cunt without knowing anything about them,  that's all. 

Before she died, my sister stole every single day of her adult life (when she wasn't in prison) to pay for her addiction and she definitely wasn't a cunt. To think that people would call her that hurts tremendously.

That's awful about your sister, addiction is a terrible thing. Using her as part of your defence is something you should be questioning yourself about.

The difference here is that we know everything about you. You post it. This is out of character from everything else you've posted. That's why it sticks out as been particularly cunty.

I wouldn't do that and I'm not using her as a defence as I'm not defending anything? I've not once said I'm in the right or anything. I'm using it as context as I wouldn't look at a shoplifter and think they're a "cunt" as others would because of my personal experience, that's all. I don't condone it either though.

Each to their own if people want to see them like that, who am I to question other peoples morality and ethics?

I wouldn’t snitch on a shoplifter myself, but I wouldn’t knowingly take advantage of the flustered shop worker’s mistake as they will likely get in trouble for that. I am neither bacon nor lion and could only ever dream of being ironic indie lad.

It's quite poor form to be fair. 

You've come in to a thread titled "Tiny Triumphs" to celebrate that you got a free packet of cigarettes from a quite clearly flustered/upset/stressed retail worker with the justification that he was quite rude to you and then finished with a triumph is a triumph. 

People called you out for not going back/not paying/celebrating it to which you doubled down with "I'm not a very nice person" as a way of justifying a means to an end. 

I completely agree it's unfair to call someone a cunt for stealing without knowing the facts. I've friends and people I know in everyday life that stole to survive day to day due to living situations, addiction, mental health, everything in between. I'd never think of calling them anything untoward like that because again, it's not being done for any personal gain as such, just more to get by. 

I know people that steal for the hell of it or to make money and take advantage of situations and people. Those people I'd have a few choice names for and I wouldn't class them as people I like or associate with, I just know of them through local hearsay and avoid. 

What sticks out here is that you do seem a fairly good person, a lot of your posts are quite reaffirming and knowledgeable and you seem like an alright human. What sticks out more is that while you didn't set out to steal anything, you also didn't go about fixing an error made and instead gloated about your personal gain at the possible expense of someone else who may face repercussions for said action. You also thought about yourself first and only yourself in suggesting a triumph is a triumph as if this was a case I guess of "sticking it to the man" or "chalk one up for the underdog". 

So yeah you took advantage of a situation, not intentionally at first but at the end of it all still did, to please yourself, came in here expecting a handshake and a pat on the back and then doubled down repeatedly, started arguing and trying to deflect any argument against you as if you're in the right. 

So yeah in this case, you are being a bit of a massive cunt.

Wild that on a big wrestling weekend with a two night Summerslam and all the happenings, the biggest story coming out of it is Bacon's heel turn. Never saw it coming.

I tried shoplifting once, when I was 20, broke and going through an absolutely miserable time and couldn't face plain pasta again that night, so tried to steal a small piece of cheese. I was shit at it, got caught and a £60 fine, which means I now can't get through the fast lane at US customs, because I have to go to the US embassy for a visa, as it's a prosecution for theft which they don't have a concept of 'spent' for, which disqualifies me for an ESTA.

But I don't want to go to the US while Trump is president, so I'm taking that as a win in the long run, as I don't have to waste time getting a visa for a country I don't want to visit any time soon.

So there you go. Shoplifting to a tiny triumph to bring the thread back to normality.

I'm not being facetious but how about going back and putting a donation to the amount of or more than the cigarettes in one of the charity donation boxes in the shop or a donation to an addiction or care charity aligned with sister's troubles?

Or don't even make an issue and just say to them 'I checked my bank and I dont think you charged me for the fags yesterday so I've come to pay it'. Makes you look the big man and the other side think 'ahhh must be a mistake and understandable with the theft we had. Fair play to this chap for coming back though'. Chances are they may even let you off
