Chili Posted Thursday at 09:26 PM Posted Thursday at 09:26 PM Jesus Christ, I'd rather she got papped at a buffet with Marty Scrull. She's dead to me. All hail Thekla. Smile anyway? Fuck that. Tequila 4 Lyf! Quote
Paid Members TheBurningRed Posted Thursday at 10:20 PM Paid Members Posted Thursday at 10:20 PM Keeping with Gabe Kidd, former Rev Pro wrestler Gideon Grey has gone a big rant over on twitter about Kidd (which started with a fuck AEW tweet). And this was before the Willow news Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted Friday at 06:18 AM Paid Members Posted Friday at 06:18 AM Can't we all just hate Gabe Kidd for being fucking shite without the whole "wrestlers are terrible in real life" stuff? Because he's really fucking shite. Terrible, goofy promos, the lamest least convincing mad man gimmick and generic ring work. He reminds me of the type of bloke you see on a night out giving it the big'un to the bouncer outside a Vodka Rev who then gets knocked out after one slap. My thoughts on Dynamite pretty much match up with everyone elses. They've kind of shot themselves in the foot by announcing PPV matches everyone wants to see that they don't even really need to bother with TV until then. It's almost a nuisance. Everyone is already sold on All Out, I'd be keen to just skip right to it. Nick Wayne would definitely be much better going down the "Mummy's boy" character route. It's a great act and he has all the potential to be a brilliant undercard heel act. The problem is sadly acts like that don't usually get consistent pushes in AEW, he'd be off TV after a few weeks. Which is a shame. Equally Wayne himself might not be keen on tieing his career to his mother. Steven Borden is too handsome for words. It's a crying shame he's 35 and not 25 as even green as grass he's showing more understanding of babyface fire and how to get a crowd behind you then someone like Hook or Sammy Guevara have done their entire careers. I'm assuming they're setting up some kind of United Empire vs Deathriders/Dogs thing for Blood and Guts but I'm pretty bored of Deathriders in that match. I'd rather see The Don Callis Family in there for something different. They've feuds with enough people you could quickly and logically put together a super babyface team to face them. Off the top of my head - Darby Allin, Takeshita, Steven Borden, Speedball, Kenny Omega, Andrade. Quote
Paid Members BomberPat Posted Friday at 08:10 AM Paid Members Posted Friday at 08:10 AM Part of me would like to see a Don Callis Family vs. People Don Callis Has Betrayed match for Blood & Guts - Ospreay, Omega, Takeshita and Andrade is already a heck of a team of former Don Callis associates, and depending how many people are on each team, they could easily add the Young Bucks to the babyface team too. The problem is that too many members of the Don Callis Family aren't really credible enough threats against a babyface super-team like that - though Okada/Fletcher/Knight/Davis is a really strong starting point for the heel team. Plus, the account given there is a second hand story that may have additional context...but even if it doesn't, people change and I'm not sure it's ever sensible to judge someone based on an incident of selfishness that they may look back at very differently. Who knows. I like the idea of - essentially - a ned/chav gimmick where they think they're hard and perhaps do have it in them to launch into violence for no reason, but for that to work, the characters around this person need to react accordingly. With Gabe Kidd, it's like they know he's talking guff but don't know how to respond. It means he doesn't seem like a gobby idiot or a dangerous psychopath, he just comes across as a bit ridiculous. I actually do think he's a good wrestler though from an in-ring perspective. But I also think Roderick Strong is excellent in ring, so keep that in mind. Quote
DavidB6937 Posted Friday at 01:04 PM Posted Friday at 01:04 PM As much as I can't take him too seriously with his hard man shit, it doesn't help when I remember him doing WOS. Makes him look even less threatening than he is now. https://www.nottinghampost.com/whats-on/whats-on-news/world-sport-back-itv-heres-1842413 Quote
The King Of Swing Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Mercedes not being cleared to wrestle while Willow is allowed to work with a broken hand, is annoying me more than it probably should. Nick Wayne should be in ROH. Not buying into him in this feud with Jericho, at all. Quote
