The limo blowing up was the angle that was going to lead to the reveal that Vince had faked his own death, which was scrapped because of Benoit. Million Dollar Mania was the following year, and I have no idea where they intended to go with the set falling on Vince, unless it was just to write off the giveaway segment as a whole.

Anything can happen on Monday Night Raw.

Look at that cartoon double take the guy does at the security before pegging it, and imagine thinking you could sell that as real.

Absolute nonsense.

It's well past the point where I cared, but what about Rey's eye being injured by Seth Rollins, resulting in a match where the only way to win is for the victor to pop the eye out of the loser's head? Rey has to wear a mask with a gimmick to make it look like his eye was Vadered, which he's obviously made a total recovery from since.

Rey was also thrown from the top of Titan Towers by Baron Corbin during Money in the Bank that year.

From memory from Bruce Prichard’s podcast(likely bullshit given it’s Bruce) was that Vince didn’t want to be on TV anymore so this was essentially done to ‘kill off’ Vince as a character.

The best bit about this was they had a special effects eye made at quite a bit of expense, but Vince didn't like the way it looked so they just scribbled on a ping pong ball in red marker pen, which apparently passed muster.

Fortunately he (and Alastair Black) survived being thrown off the roof as they landed on a "secondary roof" (?). Shortly thereafter they formed a tag team for a bit, so presumably they were stuck up there a while and bonded.

All this limo blowing up malarkey has reminded me of another Nadir. Vince McMahon's bastard son, Hornswoggle.

To be fair, they were scrambling for a pay off when the original plan, Mr Kennedy, hit the ER. Not that it wasn’t a terrible idea to begin with.

Did it ever come out what the outcome of Vince faking his own death was going to be?  involved Kennedy being his son instead of  poxy swaggle at least.  Assume there was no master plan beyond that, what with Vince being coked out of his tree at the time.

After what they did with years to perfect the idea with Jason Jordan as Kurt Angles bastard son, I don't have faith it would've been any better

The end game was supposed to be a match between Kennedy and Triple H at WrestleMania 24. I suppose they’d have passed it off as a family feud.
