Maybe WWE meant to push him as "The Last Riyal Champion" Quote

I think he'll stick to his retirement Batista's been back twice, 2014 and 2019, the latter long after he was a made man in Hollywood. I don't think that's any sort of indicator. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted October 3, 2025 Paid Members Posted October 3, 2025 Front row for his final show is eleven and a half grand! Mental. Almost like they’re pricing fans out to save a seat for Vince McMahon. His final opponent will almost certainly be Gunther, but I do like the idea floating about with him challenging Dirty Dom, since the he never won the Intercontinental Title. Retiring Cena would be excellent material for Dom going forward. Imagine the little shit celebrating that he sent John packing! Quote

Still, he seems fairly adamant now he won't be in future, and a big part of that is that he's ditched a ton of his muscle mass. Quote

True, although it was only after the 2019 run and the match with Triple H at WrestleMania 35 he started describing himself as retired, so it's a slightly different scenario in fairness. Quote
The King of Old School Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 Plus the difference you could say with Batista is that he wanted his "retirement" match, which whilst not referred to by WWE was the 2019 match with HHH, so technically has stayed true to his word. Who knows with Cena, he will probably just look as daft as the rest of them when he comes out of retirement for a tag match in Saudi in a few years. Quote
