The King Of Swing Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 Yeah Austin Gunn cut a pretty solid promo and it's also nice to see Juice going back to his old self. Could have done without the being married to Toni Storm insider bollocks, though. At least Juice was smart enough to no sell it. Sisters of Cringe and beyond awful. Honestly think Thekla would be better off ditching them. Don't think it really matters who Mone loses her other belts to, at this stage. Ultimately only the TBS matters and finally losing that is obviously what her story is building towards. No idea who takes it, though. She's already beaten pretty much everyone other than Storm who is currently tied up with the tag belts. Josh Alexander pulled an FTR by taking forever to get to the fucking point. Even Swerve looked fed up. Quote
digforvictory Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 Fantastic episode of Collision. Great matches, great promos and great video packages. Crowd also sounded louder than at Dynamite even though it was almost certainly a much smaller crowd. Mox vs Takeshita especially was amazing. This losing run Mox is on is actually starting to build sympathy with the crowd I think. Can see him returning as a big time babyface after he finally gets destroyed and kicked out by the Death Riders. The FTR vs Bang Bang Feud has been so simple and yet it's really working for me. Quote
Paid Members ReturnOfTheMack Posted December 8, 2025 Paid Members Posted December 8, 2025 Im a big fan of Sky Blue and Julia Hart, but this tag team act is bloody terrible. Worst bits of community theatre Ive seen in any pro wrestling Quote
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted December 8, 2025 Awards Moderator Posted December 8, 2025 I like them and I forgive it! I can even headcanon the silly bits of the act to make it work - i.e. Thekla knows that they sound play-acty speaking in sync but she lets them get away with it because she knows they can be legitimately scary and violent when it counts, as Skye did in B&G. If Thekla as their leader knows what they're capable of when she might need it, and it serves her purposes, she'll let them play Spooky Bollocks to keep them content. Quote
Paid Members ReturnOfTheMack Posted December 8, 2025 Paid Members Posted December 8, 2025 I think both of SoS are great, when not together. Quote

Also then they said it on two separate episodes of TV as to ensure we heard Quote

If anything, it probably adds to her gimmick. 18 hours ago, ReturnOfTheMack said: I think both of SoS are great, when not together. Pretty much how I feel. Skye Blue has a lot of potential, and Julia Hart has improved dramatically in ring - she was much better than she ought to be very quickly in AEW given her relatively lack of experience. As a tag team, they kind of make sense - I get why you’d pair them. But the gimmick, double-talking and rhyming catchphrase absolutely kills them for me. They’re among the worst mic workers I’ve ever seen in wrestling. Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted December 9, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted December 9, 2025 I don't rate either Hart or Blue. I put them in the same box as TayJay - People who have been around for ages but show no signs of getting better. Quote

I think Anna Jay has improved a lot on the mic, and she’s perfectly fine as part of a tag team. Skye Blue, for me, has improved a lot in ring, as has Hart - although I have the same thing with her as many do Adam Cole in that she just doesn’t look imposing enough to feel like a credible threat. I don’t think any of them are World Champions in waiting - at least not at the moment - but I do think they’re useful mid card wrestlers for the women’s division; people who are perfectly capable of making the main performers look good without stinking up the ring. Maybe one day they’ll move up the card, maybe not - either way, they’re useful to have around. I think Skye Blue has improved in ring the most, and has more potential to be an upper card wrestler than Hart does - however, if her mic work remains as bad as it is, I doubt she’ll progress much further. I genuinely think she’s one of the worst promos I’ve ever seen in wrestling. Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted December 9, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted December 9, 2025 Kingston's promo on Collision was awful, I thought. Weird and meandering, I have no idea what point he was trying to make. It's sad how little I care about this Samoa Joe match. A few months ago it was one of my dream matches! On the other hand Austin Gunn cut a decent promo. He's a hugely underrated talent and one of my Boys. Hopefully his brother will be back soon and they can give the Bang Bang Gang a decent push. Any idea when Jay White is back? He's been gone for ages it feels like. Quote

Last update I saw was from Fightful in October I think, and that was on the back of White sharing a post on social media reading ‘Ready?’ - they said in spite of that, as far as they were aware, this wasn’t indicative of a return any time soon and he was likely out until 2026. Paid Members BomberPat Posted December 9, 2025 Paid Members Posted December 9, 2025 I think Julia and Skye Blue have improved from where they started, but the ceiling for the women's division is so much higher than when they came in, that it basically means they've been running just to stay in place. To be fair this would absolutely work on screen (plus I want more Toni Storm interacting with mens division - ideally leading to a promo battle with MJF) and would be a fun bit of world building. It just feels like it doesn't work when shoot comments come up against what's been portrayed, like they've been very careful with how Mox and Renee interact as to be able to reference their relationship and that not push up against their on screen characters. And now I am very reminded of Itchy hitting the same rib twice yet he produces two clearly different tones and I shall shut up. Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted December 9, 2025 Awards Moderator Posted December 9, 2025 If you don’t want shoot comments directed at her, I’d keep her as far away from MJF as possible! Quote
The King Of Swing Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 A Toni/MJF segment sounds like my idea of hell. Quote
