Paid Members FLips Posted July 27, 2025 Paid Members Posted July 27, 2025 One thing AEW is usually good at is changing stuff on the fly. This impending double turn/heel turn with The Acclaimed is the best thing they could have done. Caster is over as a heel but Bowens was dying as a face. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted July 27, 2025 Paid Members Posted July 27, 2025 (edited) Admittedly, I’ve not seen Collision yet, but between the way he turned up at All In as if he’d lost his 2K save file and all his stats had been reset, combined with that interview about him wanting to be seen as a more serious wrestler, this seems like an almighty dropped bollock from Juice Robinson. Maybe I’m misremembering, but didn’t Juice originally debut in AEW as Serious Wrestler™, and he was absolutely rubbish? I’m sure he felt like a complete waste of time and money until he fully transformed into Animal from The Muppets and began running around with a cardboard cut-out of Jay White. Blows my mind that someone as wildly charismatic as Juice, with such an amazing look, would attempt to shed all that on purpose. He’s Clark Kent in Superman 2 (spoilers), choosing to remove all his powers and become a puny human. I also can’t fathom being married to Toni Storm and not seeing how you can be both wildly daft and still a humongous star. She’s arguably one of the fastest rising and biggest stars in the game right now and the majority of her TV time is spent trying to shag her opponents. Fair play to him. I’ll never begrudge a wrestler trying to better himself, but in this company, in 2025? When everyone’s a Good Wrestler and you get Good Matches every single night? I’d argue character and comedy has never been more important. And that’s without even touching on the fact that he’s sharing a locker room with some of the absolute best wrestlers who have ever lived, like Omega and Ospreay. You can’t compete with that, so why bother trying? Hopefully it works out for him. He seems a cool guy. But right now, with this direction, there’s more than a whiff of Mike Santana. Wanted more. Ended up with nothing. And then even worse, TNA. Edited July 27, 2025 by Supremo Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted July 27, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted July 27, 2025 I think there's an argument to be made that Toni Storm is the best babyface in the world right now. Her cleaning house at the end of Collision was pure fire. I hope she never loses the title. I'd give her a Hogan/Cena esque run with it. I love her. Quote
The King Of Swing Posted July 27, 2025 Posted July 27, 2025 I thought that was a really fun Collision. Only real negative for me was Kip and Nick, proving that they are nothing without The Patriarch. More charisma in my socks than those two combined. Can't wait until Christian and Cope send them packing to ROH. Really good main event. Quote
Paid Members Kamran Posted July 30, 2025 Paid Members Posted July 30, 2025 (edited) Scheduled for tonight: They've also released a trailer for the title match: They've also done a poster too: Edited July 30, 2025 by Kamran Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted July 30, 2025 Paid Members Posted July 30, 2025 Imagine if they switched the belt back to Mox. Quote
Gooner Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 It probably will go back tonight to Moxley, won't it? I assumed they would let Adam Page have his moment in Texas and then revert back to Moxley being champion again on a Dynamite show a few weeks down the line. Similar but roles reversed to what WCW did back in the day with Luger beating Hogan on a Monday Nitro before dropping the belt back to Hogan on the next PPV show. Quote
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted July 30, 2025 Awards Moderator Posted July 30, 2025 They can’t. We were finally at the light at the end of the Death Riders tunnel. Hangman has to beat Moxley convincingly, remain champion of the fucking world, while Mox spirals as his power and control vanish and his lads abandon him and all that’s left is Eddie Kingston and Eddie abandons him too because he sided with the Young Bucks. You lot can keep your stupid awful nonsense misery world where for some reason you want Hangman to lose the title, what are you even thinking. I hadn’t considered for a moment Hangman won’t win. I’ve got a slight tremble in the pit of my stomach just at the thought of it. Even putting aside the fact it makes no sense, and would be like eight steps back for the company who are finally making steps forward again after months stuck in the Death Riders gutter, I would be absolutely gutted if he loses. Now everybody stop talking about it. I’m not having it and if it happens it’s directly and specifically your faults and I’ll never forgive you. Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted July 31, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted July 31, 2025 Well that was quite easily the worst promos of Christian's career. Absolutely brutal. Quote

Yeah, it was an absolute mess and far too long. I can understand why he didn’t want to go all out face right away, but perhaps they should have kept him off TV until he made the save for Copeland at some point. Hopefully it was simply an off-night. Good promos being bad on the mic was kind of the theme of the night, though. I thought Willow was unusually bad during her promo, and Mark Briscoe wasn’t much better as he targeted MJF. That feud has generally been weaker than you’d have hoped it would be, though. From a match perspective, Moxley and Hangman have tremendous chemistry. I ended up genuinely believing Moxley might win, so Hangman’s eventual victory felt fantastic. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted July 31, 2025 Paid Members Posted July 31, 2025 He’s conducting his business!* *forgot his line. Again. Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted July 31, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted July 31, 2025 I think even ignoring that he constantly stumbled over his words and forgot his lines it was just a general mess. You had a heel cutting a long heel promo against three other heels ending with a heel beat down. What's to enjoy about any of that? Quote
Chili Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 I really like what they're doing with MJF and Hangman, especially as it's Hangman holding him to his word. If Page won, MJF said confidently that his contract is a break glass option, so Page is now saying fight your way to No. 1 contender as it's your only option. With MJF having a right mard about not simply being given his 'deserved' shot. I think I tolerate MJF more than most at the moment and generally. It's a nice wrinkle whenever people just ignore his shit. I'm genuinely unsure if Hangman should even win actually, especially if they do the match soon, I'd rather he really did. Trying to figure out where they will have the match and All Out is probably the nearest without it feeling too long to book. Quote

He did an introspective look at himself, a bit on the patriarchy, a bit on Copeland, a bit more on the patriarchy, and then more again. It was all over the place in its design, so no wonder he had such trouble with it MJF said something about Lashley being out of the picture. Is he injured? That would potentially explain the pivot.
