That was amazing. Doing your taunt while its 0-0 and getting almost immediately subbed off. What a tosser. Quote

I'm having to think back here, but I think it was shortly after leaving Spurs. The rumour mill started to churn, and everyone was buzzing at the thought. Even though he wasnt in his prime, he had to guarantee us 15 goals a season in the Championship. He was a top class striker not that long ago. Yeah, didnt work out like that. He turned up to training the size of a house. Took months to get "fit", and by get fit I mean he was now only the size of a starter home and when he finally did get on the pitch it lasted 13 minutes where he never touched the ball. He was released a day or two later. In his defence, he picked up an injury on the eve of the season starting, so maybe he could have sorted his fitness out had it not happened. Both were Free's like I said, but their wages must have cost us a fortune. Mido in particular wont have been cheap! We got him after Spurs and you got him after us (Boro). "Mido the Pedo" was a name floated around the playground when he played for Spurs, probably after his shocking goal against Schwarzer. It stuck even after we signed him. Not that he was a pedo, he just played shit for us and his name rhymed with pedo. Quote
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted October 30, 2024 Paid Members Posted October 30, 2024 Did Spurs fans have a "Jermain Defoe, Keane, Mido!" chant or was that just me and my brother imagining it? Quote

You might have misheard "Jermain Defoe, he's a *yiddo" as that was/is still a very popular chant. *sorry, don't like the word but had to type it. Quote

Paid Members quote the raven Posted October 30, 2024 Paid Members Posted October 30, 2024 I will go a bit out there but Adrian Mutu for Chelsea. 23 million and a ballon dor nomination 27 app 6 goals, then busted for coke a year later and fired. Then followed a 10 year court battle as chelsea attempted to sue him for breach of contract. They won 17m in damages, i have no idea if they ever got a penny Quote
Paid Members gmoney Posted October 30, 2024 Paid Members Posted October 30, 2024 Nah, I was on Adrian's side for that one. Should have got a clip round the ear at most. Quote
Abe_Knuckleball_Schwartz Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 (edited) Didn’t West Ham once sign someone who claimed he was the cousin of Ronaldo or something and when he rocked up it was evident that he was not and in all possibility had not even seen a football before, let alone kicked one. Paid Members Callum1993 Posted October 30, 2024 Paid Members Posted October 30, 2024 For Liverpool there’s been a number of bad ones but I’d argue Naby Keita would be the worst. Cost over 50 Million and came in with a really positive reputation but never really worked out. Lots of injuries and a bad attitude by all accounts. Hasn’t worked out for him at his clubs since he left either. Honorable mentions for Andy Carroll, Lazar Markovic, Christian Poulsen, Iago Aspas, Christian Benteke, Ricky Lambert, Mario Balotelli, Robbie Keane, Andriy Voronin, Joe Cole, Paul Konchesky, Alberto Aquilani and El Hadji Diouf. So many bad ones! Quote
Paid Members gmoney Posted October 30, 2024 Paid Members Posted October 30, 2024 That was Ali Dia who hoodwinked Graeme Souness into believing he was George Weah's cousin. Got brought on for Southampton in a game, and brought off before the end. One of my favourite players Quote
Awards Moderator Frankie Crisp Posted October 30, 2024 Awards Moderator Posted October 30, 2024 (edited) This is why AI is failing. It was Southampton and George Weah’s supposed cousin. EDIT: what gman said. Edited October 30, 2024 by Frankie Crisp Quote
