RedTwoster Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 We all have wrestling clips we watch over and over that give us goosebumps - CM Punk’s AEW debut, Daniel Bryan’s slow yes chants in the cage match against Bray Wyatt, various points in Cody Rhodes/Roman Reigns II - but are there equivalents for you in general pop culture? What clips/moments do you watch over and over? If you’re posting spoilers (eg. The moment x was revealed as y) please be sure to use spoiler tags! For me it’s this, every time. I remember watching the live stream, and feeling utter disbelief, expecting it to be a movie or something - I never expected them to remake the game, nor for it to be as good as it ended up being. Paid Members FLips Posted October 6, 2024 Paid Members Posted October 6, 2024 Back when I was in college in 2007 I would check my PC every morning on the Smash Bros Dojo I think it was called where they would announce new characters, features, music, etc before Smash Bros Brawl launched on the Wii. I remember getting up one morning and seeing they were finally adding Sonic into it which seemed like an absolute dream at the time. You have to remember that even with Mario & Sonic at the Olympics soon to be released, Smash Bros Melee was absolutely massive with me and my group of mates and up to that point that didn't have many guest characters. I think maybe only Snake at that point? Plus it was Sega and Nintendo's two big names together in a fighting game and not a sports tie-in. It felt huge. It was at a really great time for Sonic too. He still had a reputation from the Mega Drive, and newer fans had enjoyed Adventure 1 and 2, but we didn't have the dump of awful games like Sonic 06, Secret Rings, Unleashed, etc yet that completely killed him until Mania came out. 2007 as well was still the internet sort of in it's infancy for people my age too and only really used for playing Soldier of Fortune 2's MP_Shop demo, getting wrestling spoilers on InsidePulse and chatting on MSN Messenger so the dirt worst fans hadn't ruined him with non-stop porn yet either. There's been some fantastic Smash Bros additions and trailers since but this one always holds a place in my heart. Quote
Paid Members Hannibal Scorch Posted October 6, 2024 Paid Members Posted October 6, 2024 Great topic. This was the first that comes to mind. Ke Huy Quan had basically been shunned from Hollywood for years, even doing some stunt work for films as acting completely dried up. Then he was in Everything Everywhere All At Once and Harrison Ford, who he co starred with in Temple of Doom was the presenter of the best picture that year. It was just a really lovely moment I thought and so here it is Quote

The double lightsaber reveal blew me away. I watched it so so much and it got me absolutely giddy. I still remember walking out of my now long gone local cinema with my dad and a friend, all huge fans and us all being so deflated. But man, what a trailer Quote
Paid Members Callum1993 Posted October 6, 2024 Paid Members Posted October 6, 2024 This for me from Heartstopper. As someone who was struggling with their sexuality at thd time this scene was so powerful and depicts what a supportive parents’ reaction to coming out should be. A couple of months later I came out and had that very same conversation with my Mam. So yeah definitely resonates massively with me and gives me goosebumps every time. v15044gf0000cmmptonog65hbqjbe450.mp4 Quote
