Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted January 4, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 4, 2025 Just pissing about on YouTube and this was in my recommendations. Watch the first few minutes of this if you wanna see Conrad having a proper meltdown ? Not that he’s wrong in his point on this matter but, fucking hell, he needs to calm down. On another note, I absolutely hate that thing he does at the start here when he goes “and you’re saying to yourself ‘SELF’…” Quote
TibBo Posted January 5, 2025 Posted January 5, 2025 Christ that is unwatchable. When the Prichard show first started Conrad was genuinely funny, intelligent and knowledgeable, but man those shows slipped into lazy shouting soundbites and repeated catchphrases quickly… Quote

He's always had the losing his shit gimmick and I've always appreciated it ?? my favourite one was when he shat on Eric's explanation for the slow count for Sting v Hogan with Bret at Starrcade. Along the lines of "So you're telling me you fucked up the biggest PPV in WCWs history because Sting didn't have a good sun tan?!" Quote

Conrad has too many people blowing smoke up his arse telling him that he's a big deal, so he's forgotten that his job is to host and facilitate the actual star, the person who's name is on the podcast, telling their stories, not to get his own shitty jokes and catchphrases over. No one is subscribing to these podcasts to listen to him. Edited January 6, 2025 by BomberPat Quote
davertfnewman Posted January 6, 2025 Posted January 6, 2025 Best bit of business Conrad ever did was the Jim Herd interview because he left the catchphrases and bullshit at home as Herd wouldn't have a clue what he was going on about. Trying to tell the story as if he was there at the time and blustering on is his weak point, playing it straight is his best way. Quote

CTXRussomark Posted January 6, 2025 Posted January 6, 2025 I give him a bit more leeway than most when it comes to his catchphrases as it must be near impossible to churn out the sheer volume of content he does without having a bunch of crutches to fall back on, but I fully agree he's better when he's with someone he's not so comfortable with and reigns himself in a bit. It's why the Bischoff and Prichard podcasts are absolutely unlistenable thesedays as they just bring out the absolute worst of each other. On the other side its also why the Foley and Jarrett podcasts were so great at the start, and why the recent JBL have been quite enjoyable. Quote
IronSheik Posted January 6, 2025 Posted January 6, 2025 This is a fucking masterpiece of podcasting entertainment for me. Conrad has 4 epic rants ranging from angry to piss take and he reflects my own anger and frustration at Eric being totally fucking worked by Hogan's selfishness and fucking up the main event at Starrcade 1997 after an incredible year build. Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted January 11, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 11, 2025 We’ve said it before but the WrestleMe YouTube channel is gold. Where else are you gonna be hit with an image like this in the middle of a recap of a match from 1996? Quote

I think the fella is called Banyabat, who makes their YouTube segments and yes, they are wonderfully made, you can just binge through them without realising. They do a superb job of enhancing some already really fun material. Quote
Paid Members herbie747 Posted January 16, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 16, 2025 OSW and Wrestle Me are by far the 2 best wrestling podcasts. I can't stand American podcast hosts - they're just so loud and always shouting over each other, and their banter is usually shite too. Quote

Yep. Starrcade 97’s main event goes under the radar somewhat by a lot of people when talking about WCW’s demise. To build up to such a high calibre PPV and main event for so long and mess it up that badly was shocking. Quote

A New Generation podcast is worth listening to, it's become my main British wrestling podcast in recent weeks. Quote
