My last great hurrah too as someone who religiously bought all the latest ROH, CZW, IWA-MS etc tapes from SST & Outcast Video. I discovered the pub around this time and I've been broke ever since. During the triangle tag match between The Outsiders, Nasty Boys and Faces of Fear, Jimmy Hart's got a jacket on with a massive Crimson Ghost Misfits logo on the back, three full years before the spooky boys actually arrived in WCW. I'm going to assume he was also inspired by the film from the 50s or whenever it was, rather than the band, who I believe were dormant at the time. Very strange to see. I sat through some right shite in the dying days of WCW and stuck with it until the end. But when Russo was all over the shows as an on screen character it was a channel changer for me a lot of the time. Just awful. And even now, I’d rather run into oncoming traffic than listen to him talk on podcasts or in interviews. It’s not just the relentless “BRO”ing either. Just the sound of his voice and the way he does that really slowed down shouting drives me up the wall. Cornette’s a prick himself and he’s got his own issues but I’m 100% with him on Russo. Quote

The Faces of Fear had skulls on their jackets and tights, all I can think is he was being a little cheap and found this jacket to wear rather than make his usual custom jacket for the wrestlers he managed. On a related note, a typically confusing WCW thing where these lads were called The Faces of Fear, but shortly before that we had The Three Faces of Fear consisting of Butcher, Avalanche and Kevin Sullivan. Regardless they were obviously awesome. Quote

That's certainly possible, but I'd be surprised if there was a Crimson Ghost suit jacket on the market in 1996, that's well before the Misfits logo was all over the place. Quote

TNA was the one promotion I was still watching in 2007/08, and I really want to get up to that period at least, and see if I enjoy it as much as I did back then, or if it is best left in the past and memories. Run ins seem to happen every segment and I really do not know why Russo deemed it necessary. In the latest episode, S.E.X. turned up in balaclavas and camouflage trousers to do the beat downs... why, I do not know when the past episode they just turned up in normal gear to do the same thing, unless all will be revealed next episode but knowing Vinny Roo’s past booking, I very much doubt it Quote

There's been daft shit and botches etc, but this is the first I can recall that I don't have a clue what they were going for. Go home show for Starrcade. Jeff Jarrett Vs Rick Steiner. Both have in the last few weeks questioned Sting's loyalty and he's attacked them both, though he's made some attempts to restore trust with Rick. During this match, NWO Sting comes down to the ring. Commentators are convinced it's the real Sting (well, not Heenan who initially said it wasn't him, but presumably was nudged in the ribs because he instantly says oh actually it is). I should note, NWO Sting looks nothing like the real Stinger, he's even wearing gear that have a red and gold scorpion on them, something the real moody Sting hasn't worn in this incarnation. Jeff and Rick attack him, and then in a completely baffling move, Jarrett pins fake Sting, the ref counts it, and they ring the bell? What on earth was that about? It's not wheels coming off, but it's an interesting curiosity that you can point to to say something isn't right. How did this idea make it to TV? There'll be a lot more.
