If WWE started being good again, I expect similar reverence to be shown to Vincent K. McMahon. It's probably more to do with the fact that one's worst misgivings seem to be an overzealous me-and-my-playthings hiring philosophy that's got a little too many moral blindspots whereas the other is a suspected rapist who is on WhatsApp terms with Trump, has institutionalised virtually every bad practice in the business and whose track record of systemic bullying, racial typecasting and ultra sleaze is archived for consumption on the streaming service he sells. The lengths they’ll go to in order to defend king nerd shows a real lack of self awareness. Quote

Hey now. You left out covering up murders for his employees. Quote

Sure, he'll throw them a half-assed hug now and then, but will he be there when the shit really hits the fan? I don't think so. Another reason why Vince rules. Quote

I mean it’s all well and good saying how he ain’t Vince but that’s only relevant if Vince’s lack of humanity and decency made you stop watching and/or stopped paying him. We all know the reason most people turned off WWE was because they thought it was shit and absolutely fuck all to do with a moral compass. So unless you stopped watching for reasons of moral principles, you can stick your thoughts about it up your shitpipe. Quote

And as the Ashley Massaro story came to light, that was the moment I cancelled the subscription to the Network and havent bought any merch or paid for any content since. Quote

I don't disagree. But the line in the sand that's been drawn by many in terms of what they will accept and not accept from a wrestling promoter is really interesting to me considering their alleged personal politics and moral stances. When AEW has a downturn, and it will because wrestling quality is always cyclical, I wonder if more people will suddenly have a problem with Tony Khan. Quote

Sounds like plenty of people on this forum to me, then, which is who we're talking about here. But I digress. This thread by and large has fuck all to do with moral compasses either. It's a piss take, and not without merit. My favourite promoter knows all about using his card to take bumps. Quote

Merzbow Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 If true, what the fuck? Why in 2022 would you think it's a good idea to have Kurt wrestle? Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted June 28, 2022 Paid Members Posted June 28, 2022 The offer was from 3 years ago so the same year as his retirement match. Still terrible idea though. Quote
