Good to see all those Covid tests turned out to be negative after all, I was worried for you for a moment. Hey! As the socialist champions of the people and neutrals favourite we have a responsibility to be extra cautious and lead by example. Best I’ve seen Arsenal defend in about ten years to be fair, even if we did make it a bit easy for you.
Paid Members seph Posted January 14, 2022 Paid Members Share Posted January 14, 2022 So, Derby are uber-fucked. Phil Jagielka has gone from looking for an extension to looking for a job, there's a new embargo in place and they've been told to report to the EFL as to how they are going to be funding the rest of the season. SuperBacon
I'll be honest I hate watching the NLD so much that I'll take a forfeit win! Imagine the uproar. Lovely.
Paid Members PunkStep Posted January 14, 2022 Paid Members Share Posted January 14, 2022 Premier League have allowed postponements willy nilly this season, they're basically like grassroots youth leagues now. I didn't fancy an away day over to the other side of Essex back in November so I gave it the old heave-ho.

Paid Members PunkStep Posted January 15, 2022 Paid Members Share Posted January 15, 2022 Well, the NLD is off. It's actually quite funny, Spurs fans are livid (understandably). The league have brought this mess upon themselves though.

Saying that, this is of course absolutely farcical, and bending the rules to the Nth degree, and such the entire club should be liquidated. It's only fair. stewdogg
It’s not Arsenals fault at all. You can’t fault them for asking the question. It’s this silly caveat that the premier league have put in about covid being a factor in not having enough players. The interesting this is if Odegaard didn’t have COVID would the game have been called off?
Paid Members PunkStep Posted January 15, 2022 Paid Members Share Posted January 15, 2022 Absolutely. The Premier League and EFL have opened up a massive can of worms this season. We've been on both sides of it (the Liverpool game postponed, Brentford on the opening day of the season and on the other hand Leeds being forced to play us), and if there's a potential case, why wouldn't you try it? I think if Odegaard was injured rather than had Covid it would be the same, as the rules are 13 outfield players plus a keeper and have been before the pandemic. However, if Xhaka hadn't got himself sent off? I think we might meet the right number of players required. Quick Edu- throw money at Fiorentina for Vlahovic, get the Arthur deal sorted and and pay off Morocco to lie down for Gabon so Partey is home early! Paid Members Jazzy G Posted January 15, 2022 Paid Members Share Posted January 15, 2022 Do players just pick their shirt numbers themselves now? Weren't there players turning out for Liverpool and Arsenal the other night with shirt numbers in the 70s and 80s? I wonder whether they'd have felt the same if they'd been playing against Newcastle or Norwich.
Paid Members mim731 Posted January 15, 2022 Paid Members Share Posted January 15, 2022 I understand why Spurs fans are annoyed, and justifiable so, but equally watching their fans boiling in their own juices over this is fucking hilarious.
Paid Members CleetusVanDamme Posted January 15, 2022 Paid Members Share Posted January 15, 2022 Joke league. Get the lawyers in, we're due some replayed games based on the standards they're holding/not holding others to. "The Premier League’s postponement rules are designed to protect the wellbeing of players and staff, while maintaining the sporting integrity of the competition" 😂. Die.

stewdogg
The more I think about the postponement tomorrow the more I think it is negligence from Arsenal. Let’s say at the start of the week they didn’t know that they’d have 1 COVID, 1 suspension and 3 injuries this week. They also know the rules are 13+1. That would mean even without the injuries they knew that at the start of this week they could only field a max of 18+1 (assuming they are saying they only have 12+1 now). So even without everything they were gonna rock up tomorrow with only 8 subs (assuming only 1 keeper on bench)? They then got rid of an experienced player knowing that they were already short, meaning they’d have turned up tomorrow with 7 subs? Something doesn’t sit right here at all. Bet there’s a full squad out Wednesday.
