I've been watching Bond movies all night before they disappear from Prime, but I can't believe what I've seen tonight. Especially that group as it stands.

I know the e cause will be that Southgate is trying to work out his best side for the world Cup in December, but they've been dismal during these last few Nations League games. It feels like that traditional England thing where they'll do well, then it'll all go to pieces. I wouldn't be surprised if they're out in the group stage at this rate. Of course there's plenty of time to turn things around between now and then, and at least they're at a World Cup, unlike Hungary. Still, this is a heck of a run for them to capitalise on. Two wins and a draw so far in the group. They'll be on cloud 9. I imagine we'll see them at the Euros again in 2024.

I did On Her Majesty's Secret Service and Diamonds Are Forever tonight. Im probably going to watch the comedy Casino Royale next because I've got all the Roger Moore ones on DVD.

Watched. You watched On Her Majesty’s Secret Service and Diamonds Are Forever. Unless by “Did” you mean you stuck your cock through the hole in the DVD or Blu Ray. And to be fair, it wouldn’t surprise me on this places.

No, that's true. I apologise.

PunkStep doing the 'stop getting football and Bond wrong' double in the space of a couple of pages, nice.

First double he’s enjoyed since Ray Parlour and Sylvain Wiltord.

God bless the BBC for their endless quest for facts that nobody could possibly care about :

”Sallai became the first visiting player to score against England at two different venues (Wembley in October 2021 and Molineux tonight) since Sweden's Håkan Mild in 1995 (Elland Road) and 2001 (Old Trafford).”

Although it’s not as weird as the description by them and other outlets of “Gareth Bale’s deflected free kick” against Ukraine. Can we not just call an own goal an own goal? It wasn’t like he had a shot that took a knock off someone’s hip or something. It was a good old fashioned own goal. A cross nodded into the wrong net. A misguided header in one’s own box, not a deflection. Is the obsession with “talismans” so extreme we have to stretch to give this much credit to the big name players?

It's a big problem with the media in this country. I want to say it began with Beckham (and carried over to Rooney and to a much lesser extent Kane), but maybe they were like it with Gazza and then Shearer?

I reckon it started when Gazza cried at the World Cup?

And just think, they only had one season more out of him before injuries took years off his career with only Euro 96 and that night in Rome to look back on after that. He’d been fairly late to rubber stamp his place on the plane to Italy, even. Out out, brief candle.

He carried that Rangers side on his back for a few years but it was Scottish football. Mental to think that most of the England squad in 1990 came from Rangers.
