Moderators Astro Hollywood Posted March 18, 2021 Moderators Posted March 18, 2021 76 hour-long episodes of Barrymore, 10 My Kind of People, 49 of My Kind of Music (7 unaired after... the incident); none of them available to watch anywhere. Makes me pig sick to think of all the incredible footage we're probably never going to see. These videos must be the tip of the iceberg. Quote

I'm sure I've heard Tony Way mention something about watching them on video with Rhys Thomas. OPEN THE BARRYMORE VAULT Edited March 18, 2021 by gmoney Quote
Moderators Astro Hollywood Posted March 18, 2021 Moderators Posted March 18, 2021 There will absolutely be full collections on VHS somewhere, in a bunch of nans' attics. In his heyday, his fans were like Jacko's. They'd have been lovingly taping the lot, week after week. Quote

The 90s is just a generally shocking period for telly as a whole. So much of the stuff from that time is just amazingly shit and its truly baffling that everyone watched this crap and no one pointed out how shit it was. Quote

wordsfromlee Posted March 18, 2021 Posted March 18, 2021 At least we still are able to watch Bob Martin, his attempt to rip off The Larry Sanders Show. Quote

Not sure I’ve seen such low star power in the “starring” lineup followed by even less in the “guest starring”. Shocking. Quote
DavidB6937 Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 I feel like I should stop watching these Barrymore singing clips and actually do something productive with my life but I just can't. Quote

Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted March 19, 2021 Author Paid Members Posted March 19, 2021 (edited) They should have bit the bullet and did a full Seinfeld rip-off. Not like Baddiel Syndrome. I mean like scene for scene, lower quality pile of shit that killed all their careers type of rip-off. I was thinking about this for a while. Baddiel as Seinfeld. Hired solely because "he's a jew as well." All humour sucked out of the character. Zero charisma. Fat, four-eyed Seinfeld with a posho accent talking about cocks. Elaine can be Davina. Only with no subtly or timing. Barrymore is Kramer obviously. Instead of having these "wow, Kramer's actually quite clued up" moments, its just pure daft cunt John Cleese impressions, regardless of whether he's supposed to be in the scene or not. Barry from Eastenders as George. Only he has self awareness and is just gutted all the time. Doing the "Barry face" where it looks like the moon got tired. And Newman can be Matt Lucas in a wig, doing his "I'm playing a character" voices. And the whole thing is massively racist, and nobody is likeable in the least, and unlike Seinfeld, Baddiel doesnt get a shag in any episode. Edited March 19, 2021 by IANdrewDiceClay Quote
Keith Houchen Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 Kramermore can yell the N word repeatedly at Baddiel when he inevitably blacks up Quote
