If someone was going to eat a promoter into bankruptcy, stink because they can only wash themselves with a rag on a stick and shit in a bath its surely Yoko in 99 / 2000 I sort of have one. I was 17 and had just watched Yoko and Greg Valentine wrestle at a show at the Croydon Fairfield Halls in October 2000. I was writing for a newsletter at the time that Afa was apparently subscribed to, so when Yoko kicked the bucket a few days later, I emailed him with my condolences. Afa mentioned that the family don't have any information about where his body was, so after a few emails, I agreed to help by phoning up all the hospitals in the Merseyside area to help get "Rod" home. It didn't take long to get him a number, funnily enough. Quote

Spent ages chatting about his match with Val Venis at Summerslam 98 and then went for a banging curry. Second this. D'Lo is an absolute gent and you can tell he's genuine too. We had him over for The Bagpipe Report in 2004, and usually after we taped the show I'd take the guest out for a bite to eat, see if they wanted a quick look around Dublin city, then drop them to the airport late evening. When D'Lo was over it was November, pissing rain, and it was gonna be dark by 4pm. I said "do you wanna go into Dublin, or come back to my gaff we'll get stoned and order pizza?" He chose the latter and we ended up doing some fat bongs and watching The Office. It was surreal sitting on my couch totally baked and turning my head around to see D'Lo Brown just sitting there laughing away at David Brent interviewing Karen Roper. That was some trip. D'Lo is the man. Quote

This is for tales of wankers who stink like Dustys Muffler. Okay I'll do my best: Chris the Bambi Killer is a prick. Not surprised his career never went anywhere. Scott Future is a delusional fool. He wrestled 2 IWW shows in 2002, and had by far the worst match on each card. When we were launching The Wrestling Channel in 2004, I got an email from Scott telling me that if we intended to use any of his IWW matches, he needed to be compensated because he owned all rights to his name. I assured him we had no interest in his matches. Notions of grandeur. Not had any bad experiences with anyone else tbh. Met lots of wrestlers and they've all been sound. Raven was a bit surly but I warmed to him after a while and found him funny. Edited August 2, 2024 by herbie747 Quote

Scott Future is the biggest prick by a HUGE distance I have ever met in any walk of life, let alone just the wrestling business. Back in late 2001, myself and a couple of friends were trying to set up a show in Ilkeston. We had a great lineup including the cream of the UK scene and a lot of FWA Academy guys who were getting their first bookings outside of the Academy. We had guys like Jonny Storm and Jody Fleisch booked. As the show was localish to Scott, we asked if he was available for the booking and if so, what his fee would be. The demands that he came back with (He's a star you know) were both unfeasible and so far out there. (To give you some idea we later booked Colt Cabana, El Generico and Super Dragon and the combined fees were less than half what he wanted.) When we politely said that we could not afford his proposed fee, he exploded in a petulant childish rage. He knew where I lived as I'd previously bought a copy of best of NJPW Super Juniors and he'd dropped it off at my house. He turned up on the doorstep in the pissing rain to try and justify his fee. My old man was alerted to this loon on our doorstep screaming at me. The last time I saw Scott Future, he was flat out on his back after my old man had hit him with an uppercut. Quote

davertfnewman Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 (edited) Guessing it's this guy (first Google image that comes up): I imagine that newspaper cutting is equivalent to the one that Keith Hunt brings with him on the first episode of Knowing Me Knowing You with Alan Partridge. Paid Members Big Benny HG Posted August 3, 2024 Paid Members Posted August 3, 2024 Scott Future was supposed to be the main Brit guy WrestleXpress was going to be built around. So, yeah. Quote
Daddymagic Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Echo Iceman. Utter cock. Out of shape nobody who thinks he's important. Raven is a bellend (not a surprise) CM Punk was a dick when I was working with him, and a dick to everyone he came into contact with, this was years before he hit the big time. Quote
NavigatorFan Posted August 4, 2024 Posted August 4, 2024 Was Scott Future the guy that used to go to events in late 90s with a shitty jacket that was signed by a load of wrestlers? I'm almost certain it was....in which case he was a prick before he ever got into the biz !! Also Herbie, I'd be interested in more details about the Chris The Bambikiller story. I never met him face to face but spoke to him regular on phone and was kinda pen pals with him , again in late 90s and he seemed really sound. He used to send me VHS videos of his matches , just randomly.....and they always had some nice softcore German porn on the end just to fill out the tape! Quote

Based on what I've heard from people firsthand, I'm surprised he didn't get "me-too'd" a few years ago when all that stuff was coming out. Quote
