There's a place in Wood Green called the Community Hub, a collectively-run community centre, that has a thali café. Sadly only does Mon-Fri, noon till 15:00, which means that, unless you work nearby or from home with enough flexibility, it's not the most accessible. Finally got to go this Monday for lunch - veggie only on Mondays - and it was phenomenal. Freshly cooked and delicious.

 

EDIT: Oh yeh, just remembered - because I went quite late and near to closing, they gave me free refills on the pakora and the curry.

The accidently vegan Oreos have an actually nice new flavour, if you like Cinnamon. The supposedly gingerbread ones for Christmas have zero ginger in them but they're lovely, a real strong cinnamon taste.

Co-op's Katsu Bites that they've brought in for Christmas are delicious! Absolutely spiffing and hoping they'll keep them on long after Christmas is finished

Supermarkets not keeping vegan products in stock or just discontinuing things has been a real issue lately, it's like the bubble has burst after everyone started making a million different products and they've realized the profits aren't as high as they expected, even Aldi who were great have fallen off big time this past year. They had next to no Christmas stuff in the fridge, I couldn't even get my usual antipasti with the vegan cheese.

On the flipside, the pulled beef/pork Aldi released for Xmas (and will hopefully keep as a permanent part of the range) is cracking.

I've been almost living on Farmfoods new plant based Nuggets and Goujons recently, £1 a bag and they're both lovely. The nuggets are proper battered ones instead of bread crumb covered, too, likely really unhealthy by the amount of oil they leak..

Quorn's "Swedish style" meatballs really knocked it out of the park in Mrs raid's sort-of bolognaise sauce with linguine. Really tasty and couldn't tell it wasn't meat.

Going to have to try their Southern Fried fake-chicken nuggets soon, Birdseye SFC was a taste of my childhood so would love to see how they compare.

Made imam bayıldı again, this time mixing the Middle Eats recipe with a bit of Marco Pierre White's.  The most notable extra was currants - they add a nice pop of sweetness to the sauce, without being nWo.

That looks absolutely gorgeous. Currants are not for me (they're Scott Norton level nWo B team) but I can see how they'd complement it.
