d-d-d-dAz
Only vaguely Smackers related, but look at this reel that just came up on the search suggestion on my Instagram; https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5Z3GQOsNwo/?igsh=M2Y4bndxbTVhYWll Absolutely pissing aura. Biggest star in the game. Even Bubba Ray has got his phone trying to get a quick video. It's probably for the best he wears joggers and t-shirts on Smackdown every week, we couldn't handle this much aura regularly. Â
Paid Members Supremo Posted Saturday at 08:39 AM Paid Members Share Posted Saturday at 08:39 AM (edited) How is every episode of Smackdown the best episode of Smackdown ever? I hit the roof when Jey and Big Jim hugged. This is the fucking business! I LOVE IT! For the longest time, I’ve slagged off  Hunter for being graded on such a wild curve. Taking over from the dumbest, most senile man alive, Papa H would get ridiculous amounts of praise for just doing the bare minimum correctly. But then you see stuff like this, and the reactions it gets, and you realise it can be this easy. Sometimes all you need to do are the basics. That’s pro wrestling at its best. Simple, interesting stories, with characters you can invest in, paying off in the most predictable, satisfying manner. It’s not perfect, by any means. It feels super rushed and clunky. If I was cynical, I’d suggest this wasn’t the original plan and they’ve pivoted around Bad Blood after seeing everyone calling for Bloodline vs. Goodline on Twitter. What an indicator of how spoilt we are now! Complaining too much stuff is happening too fast, in order for the company to give the fans what they want. The polar opposite to ten years ago, when nothing would happen for months on end, and the last thing they’d ever consider is giving their fans what they wanted. I’m equally terrified and ecstatic about where this storyline goes next. Don’t you fucking dare call The Rock, Roman! It’s Sami Zayn or bust! Real family! Hunter will always Hunter though. For a man who definitely hates the spotlight he must have definitely hated scripting himself on to the show again. Bet he was furious putting that camera directly in front himself. But at least it gave us this brilliant visual. Hunter Hearst Helmsley when someone suggests a black male wrestler winning on pay per view. d-d-d-dAz
I barely ever watch shows without fast forwarding chunks, but watched pretty much that whole show. Great stuff. Using the Bloodline stuff to push MCMG over the edge with fans who might not know them yet was very smart. Everything Bloodline is just cooking on gas right now. Thought the opening segment was great too, even though Triple H responding like his music playing wasn't his choice was funny. 'Oh no, the wrestling gods are playing my song... now I have to get out there'. For me, the only misstep on the show was having LA Knight throw out a match that the fans were chanting THIS IS AWESOME for. It sort of didn't feel like he was on the side of the audience. Still, good show. Cody/Gunther were class too. Edited Saturday at 09:28 AM by d-d-d-dAz

I couldn't help but think whilst watching it, that if they kept Gunther on Fridays and brought Phil in when he's back, it'd be the only wrestling show I felt compelled to watch weekly. Paid Members Hannibal Scorch Posted Saturday at 01:59 PM Paid Members Share Posted Saturday at 01:59 PM I asked an innocent question the other week about why they kept having Andrade and Mello fighting. And it was pointed out it was a best of 7 so the winner gets a title shot. Made perfect sense. Â So what was the point of it leading to a screwjob finish and then they announce a 3 way title match? Just seems pointless to me.

Just seems pointless to me. That was the point though. Two guys competing for a title shot. The ref/champion screws them. They end up both getting a title shot. It didn't change the aim or direction of the whole thing. It's just a way of carrying on the feud between the three. It's not that confusing. d-d-d-dAz
Yeah, the only mistake was allowing the seventh match to be heated up to the point where the fans are loving it and then having the babyface piss all over it. That was weird. But the general trajectory makes sense, with the 'I'm the best' cocky champion deciding 'fuck you both, you're both trash, no title shots for anyone' and trying to blow the whole thing up; only for the GM to teach him the rules of life. If LA Knight was a heel, or even a prime Rock level heel/face hybrid, it'd have been great. As it is, he's a big old babyface and having him kill a match the fans were enjoying and then try and cut a babyface promo was a bit weird. RedTwoster
Fuck me, that hug between Jey and Jimmy. Absolutely magical. I’d been a bit down on Smackdown recently, but the reformation of the original Bloodline has pulled me right back in. Sami Zayn rejoining the group is going to be one heck of a moment - and I really hope it’s not something they pull the trigger on at Crown Jewel. Turning LA Knight wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world, although I’m not entirely sure that’s what they were going for with whatever the heck that was. I’m not really sure what else you do with him as a babyface though, so perhaps it’s time to try something different. It’s still bizarre to see MCMG in WWE, let alone seeing them hold the tag titles so early in their run. I’ve always been a huge fan of Alex Shelley, and I’m a bit perplexed at the fact he’s not had a significant singles run in a major promotion. Here’s hoping he gets the chance once his run with Sabin runs its course.

DavidB6937
I'd enjoy a heel Ciampa singles run. That's him at his best for me. But I have no desire to see it opposite Gargano.
