The Clint
Yeah but they were in New York and MSG was the venue for Mania 20. Would've been a better touch than the Staples Centre.
Paid Members PunkStep Posted March 14, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted March 14, 2017 Yeah, plus Mania 10 and 20, despite not being the 10th or 20th anniversaries, seemed more fitting occasions to nod back to the original WrestleMania. After all, they held them in MSG for that very reason I'm sure.

WyattSheepMask
Cena confirmed to induct Angle, which seems to have got some fans pants in a twist for some reason, "more deserving" people should have been considered apparently. Ron Simmons & Bradshaw to induct Teddy Long

Bloody Vince! Â Nah Cena is one of the best choices, though I think Angle said Austin would be his first choice. Id have maybe had American Alpha do it if they felt up to the job
TildeGuy~!
Isn't it the persons choice who inducts them? Â I doubt Kurt would want Team Angle 2.0 to induct him
King Pitcos
It's usually the person's choice as long as WWE agrees with it. William Shatner wasn't Jerry Lawler's choice. New Day probably were Michael Hayes'.
WyattSheepMask
I've no problem with it being Cena. To the best of my knowledge, Angle is the last person to have made Cena tap out, and obviously Cena debuted against Angle and they feuded on & off for a couple of years so there is a connection there at least. The Clint
According to a recent Q&A with Angle apparently he wanted either Cena, Austin or Lesnar to induct him. Well it was never gonna be Lesnar was it? Unless Vince gave him a hefty bonus on top of his Mania appearance.
Paid Members PunkStep Posted March 19, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted March 19, 2017 Id have maybe had American Alpha do it if they felt up to the job Why on earth for? Because they also wear singlets and throw suplexes? There is no connection whatsoever.

Paid Members PunkStep Posted March 19, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted March 19, 2017 Sure, but no direct connection between the two. Their paths have never crossed in wrestling.
TildeGuy~!
Have their paths even crossed in real life?
Jon-Carr_92
I think they got it spot on with Cena. Having the guy you wrestled on his debut and the person he'd become. Haven't watched the HOF for a few years if I'm honest. Going to have to see it this year.
Guest
Sure, but no direct connection between the two. Their paths have never crossed in wrestling.neither have the Freebirds and the New Day but it was a nice nod that a team using the Freebird rule today would induct them, I was thinking similar for Alpha seeing as they've clearly been influenced by Angles style and look so might have been nice. New Day are probably better public speakers though so I can understand not giving Alpha such a role and like I say Cena is a fine choice
