Was trying to find out if Carol Lee Scott is still working as Grotbags, and I found this cracker on her wikipedia page.

The concept of Grotbags came about while Carol was performing in summer season in Cleethorpes with Rod Hull. When Rod was approached to make a new show to be broadcast at the launch of Central Independent Television, he created the series Emu's World, and approached Carol to play the witch. Together they came up with the premise of Grotbags' character and name (the latter coming with Carol suggesting 'Miss Grot', the name the MD of Ladbrokes used to call her; Rod revised it to Grotbags).

Miss Grot... I assume that's because of all the porn she did behind the Iron Curtain or something.

That's proper weird, imagine being scared of something destined to scare the fuck out of you??

On the flipside, Baron Samedi from Atmosfear 2 wasn't scary in the slightest, he was a right old laugh.

I was a bit obsessed with Baron Samedi, loved his catchphrases. "BIG TIME PARTY TIME SHOW TIME...

...AND THEEENNNNNNN SOME!"

I just watched this whole bloody thing. I was appalled just how much of it I could recite from memory:

I'm convinced this isn't an actor. Just some homeless guy they pointed a camera at, like the ones that become town legends. "Old Baron Samedi's been at it again, vomming under the railway bridge..."

I never had it as a kid, but a few years back (long ago enough that I still had a vcr) my mate found it in a charity shop (the first one with the gatekeeper). We had an absolute blast - it was a rare thing from childhood I never had that actually lived up to what I thought it was going to be like.

Onyx, I'm going to watch that on my commute home now (blocked at work)- thanks!

They were brilliant games. The first three were good, the first two especially. The fourth got a git confusing at times (the vampire one) but Harbingers was really decent with a change in format. Might have to try and source a second hand copy somewhere.

I went about going to get all these a few years ago. I already had them but my dad threw them into the loft and pieces and cards were everywhere. Bastard.

I got hold of the newer Mummy one and the Gatekeeper one that I think came on DVD but they didn't hold the same atmosphere as the originals. Elizabeth Bathory was the one that got me. Creepy and sexy at first and fucking horrifying later one. Was she the same actress as the witch?
