OMG PEOPLE! I don't need to keep getting private messages asking me if I heard Bret has cancer. Yeah, I know. And guess what? I HAD CANCER IN 2013. It's not the end of the world, people. It is treatable.

People on social media always like to claim how 'tough' they are, post memes about being a 'survivor' and a 'fighter'.

Well, when you are read your last rights TWICE because hospital staff didn't expect you to make it through the night, and then are discharged with a full bill of health less than 3 weeks later, THEN come talk to me about being a 'tough fighting survivor'. Until then, take a seat. You don't know what TOUGH is.

She makes some good good points. People with cancer saying they are going to fight the disease and get through it ... they don't know jack compared to Tammy and need to shut the fuck up.

Seriously though, what a c**t.

Didn’t know whether to post this in the minor news thread or here, but settled on here since it was on-topic. The BBC recognises Bret Hart as a bona fide celebrity on its home page:

They mentioned it on radio 1 on the 6:30am news.

Proper out the ordinary.

I really forget sometimes just how loved Hart really is, especially in Canada and Europe. He gets a lot of stick for being too serious about his character but you can't deny the impact he had on the WWF for years. Amazing how global it has gone given he hasn't wrestled since 2000 (barring a few shit matches that weren't)

He is a "Canadian Hero" afterall

As Michael Landsberg shot down Vince on that very subject, you probably need to be Canadian to understand what a big deal Bret Hart is to Canadians.

Maybe in America they'd happily discharge her three weeks after giving her last rites with a "clean bill of health". My fiancée was told they'd gotten all the cancer after her surgery but to be sure she still had to go through chemotherapy, radiotherapy and brachytherapy, none of which I would wish on my worst enemy after seeing some of the side effects. Even now almost a year on we're not out of the woods and still have at least 3 years of scans before she can be given a "clean bill of health". If ms Sytch had been through any of that you'd think she'd be happy to be alive and trying to make something (other than asthmatic porn) to raise awareness of the importance of getting checked and offering her support to the Hitman. He's got a hell of a battle coming up and I sincerely hope he comes through it, as cancer needs a good arse kicking and in my book Brett's the guy to do it.
