Merzbow
Just wait till all he does is running grapples. Â I miss guys like Mr Perfect and Owen Hart, superworkers who also have bags of charisma that could be called up to the main event if needed. I'd sacrifice Ziggler to whichever demon that would bring either of those two back for me.
Paid Members WWFChilli Posted February 14, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted February 14, 2015 The roadie run up the aisle that cameramen used to do in WWF (example, Hogan entrance at Mania 8). Â Good announcers on the main shows. I know it's down to who's producing them but I think I completely tapped out when Curtis Axel came out recently and the JBL... THE HEEL, told you to change the channel. Â Blue ringside mats, would love to see them once for a punt (do the old school raws use these?). Dr.PeterVenkman
Agree for the most part about the announcers, just wish they'd go back to 2 per show, is Cole still on Smackdown? If so, why?
Flangedango
Â I don't get my big fat athletic monster fix in pro wrestling anymore.
Paid Members garynysmon Posted February 15, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted February 15, 2015 Would have to agree regarding commentary. Whatever the fuck happened to the laugh out loud funny, mean spirited Jerry Lawler of the mid 90'?
Shane O' Mac Version 2
Every once in a couple of blue moons, Lawler still makes me laugh with a zinger. Â I wonder how much Vince produces Lawler and JBL. I know he's all over Cole as the lead announcer, but in different ways, Lawler and JBL don't seem to really give a fuck. Paid Members WWFChilli Posted February 15, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted February 15, 2015 If that's the case I would outright sack JBL. Massive detriment.
Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted February 15, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted February 15, 2015 JBL is Vince's voice on commentary. He's the most produced out of all of them. Hence 90% of the dumb shit he comes out with. When ever Vince needs to vent, he uses JBL. Lawler isn't, because Lawler has walked out before so they are shit scared of pissing him off. Lawler stands up for himself, unlike everyone else in the company. He does whatever he wants. And if he wants to show up and sit there saying nothing, he will. The WWE is just another gig to Lawler. Its only 5 bookings a month for him. He doesn't even watch the show when he's not on it.
Moderators PowerButchi Posted February 15, 2015 Moderators Share Posted February 15, 2015 JBL's the public voice of Vince. You just know Vince's feeding him all the time.
Shane O' Mac Version 2
That really indicates how bat-shit crazy Vince has become then, because 90% of what I hear JBL say is crazed ranting about conspiracy theories and shit.
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted February 15, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted February 15, 2015 I'm pretty sure Lawler doesn't even go to production meetings while all the other commentators have to.
Paid Members Maverick Posted February 15, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted February 15, 2015 Did Lawler start working regularly again after the heart incident? Know he was meant to work Steiner but is he back on his crazy old schedule of working all the time?
Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted February 15, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted February 15, 2015 Check out Jarrett's "Lawler is a paedo joke" before the match. Its mental that this is a gag Lawler never seems to mind.
Moderators PowerButchi Posted February 15, 2015 Moderators Share Posted February 15, 2015 Lawler's a proper pro wrestler, if it gets heat then it's fair game. Â Good match that too, Lawler's punches are the best thing in wrestling ever.
Undefeated Steak
Lawler vs Miz exposed how big the gulf in talent is between the territory and post-territory wrestlers. A barely mobile Lawler pulled Miz to one of the best matches of the past 15 years. I often wonder who out of the most recent generations would have made it as a champion in the territories. Cena, Michaels, HHH, Undertaker.
