Paid Members SpursRiot2012 Posted October 6, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted October 6, 2014 Guys! Halloween is coming. I don't go out on Halloween but would like to get into the spirit of things by watching some scary films around Halloween week with the lady. Â The only thing is, they need to be on Netflix (because laziness). Â They don't have to be super mainstream. If there's some hidden gem out there you'd recommend, go for it. Paid Members bAzTNM#1 Posted October 6, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted October 6, 2014 Right, I know a few you might like. Most of these are shit, but I quite liked them. All of these are on the US version of Netflix.. Â "Humanoids from the Deep" with Doug McLure. You might remember him from such films as... Â "Pinnochios Revenge". Yeah, not very good. Surprisingly scary though. Â "Frogs". If your girlfriend hates snakes, spiders, and other general beasties, then she'll be shitting herself watching this. Film really gave me the creeps. Features a young Sam Elliott in the leading role. Hardly any frogs in it. Â Only going with stuff I've watched from Netflix.

Paid Members Thunderplex Posted October 6, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted October 6, 2014 VHS, VHS 2, Maniac, would you rather, Rites of Spring, The Woman, Human Centipede, The Reeds, Severed-forest of the dead, Tales from the Crypt-Ritual are among the ones I've seen and enjoyed recently. Tons of stuff on there.
LEGIT
I like horrors, but don't like stuff that genuinely scares the shit out of me. Stuff that's been mention like Fright Night and Werewolf in London are my kinda thing. The Maniac Cop films are favourites of mine. It's maybe a disservice to them to call them horrors that aren't scary; I find them scary at times but they wont warp your brain. Â Last Halloween I watched at 80's movie call April Fools. It was absolutely terrible. Â PS- See that film Cabin in the Woods- I've heard great reviews. Would people recommend it? I wouldn't mind seeing it as long as it's not too chilling. Paid Members Thunderplex Posted October 6, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted October 6, 2014 Cabin in the Woods is a lot of fun. Can't say too much as there is a bit of a twist, but well worth watching.
Mr_Danger
Black Sheep is decent and in the same vein as Bad Taste or Brain Dead. Tucker and Dale vs Evil is tons of fun, not sure it's a horror though. Drag Me to Hell is well worth your time as well.
Paid Members Thunderplex Posted October 7, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted October 7, 2014 Tucker and Dale us a rare example of comedy horror that really works. Excellent film.
Paid Members Scott Malbranque Posted October 7, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted October 7, 2014 D-Mal knows best!Event Horizon is magnificent with the lights out. I saw it thrice in the flicks and a rake of times since, and even to this day, it never loses the edge. My wee lad pure shite himself when he saw it. Â Also, Tucker and Dale and Cabin in the Woods are fucking fantastic!

Loki
Yeah, I'd agree with  Tucker & Dale Fright Night Cabin In The Woods  for slightly giggly horror, and then  Drag Me To Hell The Bay The Blair Witch Project  for scares, and round the evening off with  Army Of Darkness  because Bruce Campbell. Keith Houchen
Any chance you can specify which are UK Netflix? Changing DNS stuff scares me.
