Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted March 6, 2017 Author Moderators Share Posted March 6, 2017 Was listening to that in the car on the way to work today as it happens - excellent album! Also been listening to the Camp Lo album from the end of last year and it's pretty damn good.
Members SuperBacon
Nice little find on YouTube. Series of Marley Marl describing and recreating some of his biggest hits. This one is on The Bridge, and whilst we all know BDP won with The Bridge Is Over, it's stlll a good 10 minute watch. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6IxUXfhC8TI
big7thletter
Big Daddy Kane is back over here in May! I saw him at the Jazz Cafe in '14 and he was unreal but i had to leave 40 minutes through it to get the last train home. He was incredible live and had terrific crowd interaction. Also, just picked myself up some tickets today for Dru Hill / 112 / Ginuwine in October in Bristol too. Some good stuff happening this year. Bradyisgod22
Went to Luda in Hammersmith on Saturday. Any one else there? All went way to quick and didnt really do anything (Other then Lil Fate doing his verse from Growing Pains) that the average Fast and Furious fan would not know even though the whole show was based around us being real Ludacris fans who know all the songs off all the albums haha. He was good though I suppose all in all. Missed Joe Grind supporting though which was a bit of a pisser! Met Eurgh from Dont Flop outside afterwards though and spoke with him and that. Proper nice dude
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted April 8, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted April 8, 2017 (edited) Anyone listen to the new Joey Badass (I'm not typing it the stupid way with the $$) album that dropped yesterday? I've only listened to some so far but it's pretty good I think. 'Land Of The Free' especially... And am I hearing things or has he sampled the beat from 'Juicy' by Biggie there as well? And I'm liking Da Villins new album 'Cashmere Dice'. Came out yesterday as well. This song gave me my Sean Price fix while I'm waiting for 'Imperius Rex' to come out as well... lightningxlock
Had a bit of a Hip Hop run yesterday. Got: Run The Jewels 3 MF Doom - Operation Doomsday Ghostface Killah - Twelve Reasons To Die 2 Czarface - A Fistful of Peril Anything else recent, in this vein, that I may have missed? Members SuperBacon
Operation Doomsday is such a great album. I've been revisiting quite a lot of stuff from that era, 7L & Esoteric, Mr Lif, Akrobatik, Insight. All that good backpack shit. More recently, I've been listening to Styles P & Kwelis EP still, an album by a dude called billy Woods (known unknowns), a new name on me, but it features beats by Blockhead and Aesop Rock, and it's pretty decent and of course, the UK continues to fucking kill it with new albums by the GOAT Jehst, and Ramson Badbones, which are probably the two getting played the most at the moment.
