I'm guilty of wearing a cut off over a leather jacket in the past.. but my dress sense is pretty dire to be fair, I'm a lapsed metaller who still clings on to a little of the style.

I assume this was covered in band patches?

Am I the only one who liked Triple H's demin/leather jacket combo? Everyone seems to hate it. Fuck you. I was a fan.

It's one of the best wrestler non-wrestling outfits of all time.

I loved it too, thought it looked class. He should bring it out of retirement for his next Mania feud.

I liked that look too, Ian. With his build and overall look, it suited him down to the ground. Looked cool as fuck.

Odd how you mentioned that. Been watching 1998 ECW, and Taz is so over with that fan base and is booked with such a rep its stunning to see how feared and believable this 5'3" bloke is. I'm up to where he's feuding with Bam Bam Bigelow and they are like two bulls. Its a shame they couldnt have got Vader for a run in ECW. I know Vader was keen on coming in to wrestle Bam Bam, but a feud with Taz would have been great at that time.

Ive been watching him a bit on you tube and he is brilliant in his role. His WWF debut, in the last 15/20 years is only behind Steiners. Bigelow was great though. Its strange seeing the small bloke on NXT, is it Bull Dempsey? ( i havent seen it since they took it of sky sports), he is terrible in the role. Surely there must be some hard looking short bloke who can talk and do a few believable moves they could push? It would be something different from the current crop.

Was watching a recorded episode of British Wrestling Weekly/NGW from the Made In Leeds channel earlier.

There was an NGW trainee battle royal where a guy called JD Boom taunted a bloke doing an African tribesman gimmick by doing a MONKEY chant/gesture/dance at him, then eliminated him by tempting him with BANANAS.

I am not making this up.

Taz was fuggin' great in ECW. Have to echo Ian's sentiments about how they just made this character work despite the height issue. I think a big part of it was making him the "Human Suplex Machine", and emphasising how the suplex was about technique and having a low point of gravity, and the fact that they look like brutal moves when done properly. They were presented as a great leveller that a small man could use to destroy almost anyone.

Taz never really looked that much smaller to me than the guys he was is in there with a lot of the time though, guys like Shane Douglas, Chris Candido, Rob Van Dam, Sabu and others who were kind of "average wrestler height" or cruiserweight, unless he was in with 911 or the Pitbulls, presented as "monsters" which you could believe in ECW because for much of the ECW locker room, they were, and you'd never seen these guys in the "big leagues" for comparison. Well, and the Varelans debacle, but let's not get into that. It was truly only when Taz was eyeing up Boss Man and Albert within about 2 weeks of his WWF debut that I first realized "hang about, Taz is actually tiny."

Not only was he short, he also had a KISS song as his entrance theme. Abeit a heavy KISS song, but a KISS song nontheless.

He was never going to stay over in the WWF.  No matter what he did, they only needed to see him standing next to Crash Holly and see there was little size different and they werent pushing him as a star. Its the trouble Kevin Steen will run into. He's a great brawler who can outtalk most of the roster, but if Kevin Dunn and Vince sees him as a fat bloke with a beard of a Yorkshire Terrier, then it doesnt matter how over he is.
