Loki Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 I was a huge fan of his at that time. He had a great look, and rick says, just had a main event aura about him. I was actually really excited when he turned up in TNA, but Jesus Christ he was bad. I put him in the same category as Billy Gunn in my mind - the occasional glimpses of real talent just served to highlight how disappointing the rest of it was.
King Pitcos Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 In the strictly controlled WWE, Kennedy wasn't that bad. He delivered his promos well, his work was OK but not brilliant, his character was simple enough to dislike and he carried himself like a main event guy which put him head and shoulders above the rest of the mid-card. If he hasn't been a div I'm sure they would have gotten a decent run out of him. I think this is about right. He had more potential than most in that era, but he just never developed past where he was when he started. His big fuck-ups cost him, as well as injuries, but even had he been active and present, he'd still have been surpassed by the likes of Punk and Sheamus because he didn't seem to improve at all.

You can see he was trying to be more human but he's not natural enough, which is strange as he speaks very well when he isn't in character (his appearance on the Summerslam panel with SSSA, for instance).
