Rocky IV is a superb example of "that guy looked like a star, he's gonna have a good career, ah no he's not".

Dolph was also He-Man so he wasn't just a star he was a god.

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

People wot put it in 1st place: 3

IMDB Rating: 8.8

What's it about?

Like the other one, but with added Billy Dee Williams.

What do we say?

As a Star Wars fan (and by that I mean the good first three, not the pretend more recent ones), I am baffled as to how this managed to decimate the original and Return Of The Jedi so clearly in this list, personally, but I still expected The Empire Strikes Back to be the highest placed of the three. But this high in the list?

Yeah, why not. It is fantastic. It's not my favourite of the three, that's still the original. It's certainly helped by being one of only two films on the list to have received three number one votes, and the range of opinions on it were varied:-

"The 'Dark' one, best of the original triliogy, from the battle on Hoth which is epic in scope to the showdown on Bespin, a quality film all round." - patdfb

"The best of all the Star Wars movies." - Snake Plissken

"I still think this is awesome and will until the day I die and anyone who says they saw the twist coming is a liar." - GBH189

By the way, in the last run of predictions that everyone had a go at, nobody correctly guessed two of the three films yet to come.

Demolition Man

In Bruges

Fucking BOOOOOOO. I hate Star Wars and all it fucking stands for. Those films are my idea of hell. I'd honestly rather watch Steel Magnolias or Big bastard Business with Lily Tomlin than a pissing Star Wars film. Hate hate hate.

Well I'm assuming Shawshank is the one that will be in the list (it better bloody had be), so it means that none of the other films I've voted for are going to appear.

You can shove your top three up your arse, Small.

Escape to Victory is blatantly numero one. It's the correct choice as well. Caine, Von Sydow, Stallone and Wark. The finest ensemble piece in the history of cinema.

Looking at the rest of the list (particularly Se7en), Id assume Fight Club will make the cut. Again, judging from what else made the list, its surely impossible for there to be no Rocky movie at all in the Top 50.

Considering the testosterone fueled list we've seen up to now, I'm stunned that there have been no Rocky films and I'll be even more stunned if there isn't one still to come.

I can't decide if it's Rocky III or IV that's gonna be in the list. I think it SHOULD be IV thanks to the soundtrack pushing it over the egde as my favourite Rocky, but there's a lot to love about III. I'm pretty sure it was Ian that listed all of the things.

Hulk Hogan, Mr T, Eye of the Tiger. It's easily my favourite Rocky, although I think the first film is a better standalone film.
