He buys it and sells it to one of the Black Eyed Peas who's a wrestling fan and collects retro toys. As for the bendie LJNs I could never find Hulk. They had a 1985 production date on them IIRC so there was characters which weren't available in the Hasbro line like JYD, Big John, Animal Steele et al. They had bendie managers too like Capt Lou and Bobby The Brain. Did the whole lot get a UK release or just selected ones?. I had JYD, Andre, Hot Rod, Studd, Orndorff and Steele. I don't think they were wide released here. But I am sure late 89/ early 90 I saw a mail order for them either in the sky magazine or Satalite TV Europe. I do remember seeing them in one of those random shops that just got old stock or some boxes which had fell off a van for cheap. You don't get many random shops like them anymore
King Pitcos
Not sure if series 2 of the retro figures have been posted, I might have posted pics of some of them before so I do apologise, but here they are:

As if they have gone with the jumping mold for any of these, Fucking horrid mold, especially if you plan to display. I wonder who chose the mold for each character and what goes through their head? Austin - yeah I can live with that, not a fan of adding extra articulation in the arm though. Just an arm shaped like Mr perfects would have done for the stunner. Mankind - I always thought the Jerry Sags mold would be good for mankind, so this isn't far off. Again, fuck that arm off though. Kane - Yup, can live with that. Rock - I'd have gone with the Bret style mold, arm shaped a bit more like it could do a rock bottom. HHH - when the fuck has he been a top rope specialist? Saying that, when was repo man? Anyway, I'd have said something like a savage upper body with Bret Hart legs, keeping the pedigree in mind. Sting - NA, fuck that, give him a full on savage mold, or switch it up. Here's a sting I made using a doink body/legs with switched up arms. Anything but the bloody hawk mold. Guest
That "authentic" Pedigree is something quite special indeed. It would've been quite funny if Sting's figure had been in the Galoob style.
Nick Hughes
Just to chip in..loving the trip down memory lane. My old man used to organise the Christmas Party were he worked, which meant each November he would take a trip to a sketchy toy warehouse in Manchester. I had just got into watching the WWF due to it being shown a few times in the WOS spot on ITV, and the fact that I managed to pick up the odd Pro Wrestling Illustrated from a newsagents in Abergele..but there was bugger all on the toyfront if memory serves. Anyway, while picking up the usual assortment of toys for the kids party, he also came across a full range of LJN figures (think this would be either Christmas 86 or 87)..and on Christmas day I was a right little chuffter as I opened present after present. I think I ended up with Hogan, Savage, Iron Sheik, Ted Arcidi, Tito Santana, Jim Brunzell, B.Brian Blair, S.D. Jones..and there was a few more as well..if I dig around in the loft I still have them all I think.
Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted July 10, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted July 10, 2017 I think my first figures were a set of snide Mega Powers from Flamingo Land. I think they were Hogan and Savage anyway. One was definitely Hogan, and the other had a beard so, you know? A picture of Hogan booting Sgt Slaughter was on the cover, I remember that. Would love to see that online somewhere. Bootleg figures, although not pretty, have almost as much nostalgic value as hasbros do. If there was a particular one that looked good, I'd buy it and put him in my fed. Fun UKFF fact, that fork and wrestlers thread was originally a thread I started talking about bootleg figures, which then turned into a hasbro discussion. Jon-Carr_92
My first proper ones were The Rock and Triple H from the Jakks Finishing Moves line on my birthday one year. Also got the Titan Tron set with Vince McMahon figure that played the entrance themes and a ring that turned into a carry case with a cage to clip onto it. Before that, when I had the Poundland ones, I'd use a plastic vegetable box for a ring. My parents were pretty thrifty with storage solutions and I'd use one of them for that. It certainly did the job despite being rectangular which wouldn't make sense in real life, obviously.
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted July 10, 2017 Awards Moderator Share Posted July 10, 2017 I dunno, 'the rectangular squared circle' has a bit of a ring to it.

Was it these two, and was this the packaging by any chance? If so, that is apparently meant to be studd.

The double pack wasnt the packaging (I dont think), but it was that bearded wrestler with a different Hogan. I had that Hogan seperately as well, and it did come with that packaging. The packaging had a screen shot from SummerSlam 91 on the front, with Hogan big booting Sgt Slaughter.

Ahh I know what you're on about. So they are a remco figure knock off. You could get so fucking many different companies boot legging them. You could get them in seaside shops in bloody mallorca. Remco knocked out the AWA figures in the 80s. Edited July 10, 2017 by Kaz Hayashi

In my pre-Hasbro days I used He-Man figures in one of those big plastic crates that folds into a flat rectangle when not in use. Totally the wrong shape and size for a ring, but the concept was there and a nine-year-old's imagination can take care of the rest. He-Man himself was Hogan, obviously, and Hordak was The Undertaker. Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted July 10, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted July 10, 2017 I always found that if you were pitting the hasbros against another kind of figure it took a while to get the playing adjusted. As if you needed developmental for a He-Man figure if he was coming to WWF Toy Land. "Give the Beast Man 6 months and he'll be working like a Series 3 blue card." Paid Members Kaz Hayashi Posted July 10, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted July 10, 2017 (edited) "Give the Beast Man 6 months and he'll be working like a Series 3 blue card."... hahaha Back in the early 90's our hasbros were living in the ghostbuster house, due to the influence of 'Rock n Wrestling'. Although time line was a bit off regarding whether face or heel, it was still perfectly casted and scripted, you had.. Hogan, Warrior, Savage Brutus and Jake, being the good eggs, fighting crime, but with occasional in house politics due to Jake being a bit slinky and Warrior just smashing shit up when the tele didn't work like a massive moody teenager, but would have spells of rage like the green hulk. Hogan would be the Leonardo leader, Brutus would be your Michelangelo div and Savage would just be Savage being a bit crackers. Then we'd say 'baddies turn' and you'd have M$M leading the way as a super rich villain boss, Undertaker would be the hard as fuck body guard with dead man powers included, earthquake and Typhoon would be your bebop and rock steady, and HBK (white tights) was your cool but lazy piss taker. Each family would go about their business, day to day, like Earthquake and Typhoon stealing the local schools food delivery truck, but Brutus and Jake would find out and foil their plans, which ultimately led to a match that night at Lee Madison's big garden (Lee Madison was a lad at school who had a big garden), however, our event was held in the blue Hasbro ring on top of a shit 4 foot snooker table in the garage. And it's reasons like that I'm a geeky figure twat now. Edited July 10, 2017 by Kaz Hayashi
