MOD EDIT: PIctures are NSFW, mark them NSFW please chaps.

Does anyone come into this thread whilst at work? Surely you're walking a fine line there.

How selective are people of their viewing material? I just browse through most recently added videos until I find something that looks decent, or sometimes choose a specific pornstar from memory that I'll have known via the former method. I feel quite naïve to porn, from viewing habits to the goings on of the industry, but am kind of blissfully ignorant. I don't think I'd want to know how it works.

I'm pretty selective these days, sticking to mostly vintage or amateur stuff. I can't be doing with anything where the women are being hit or choked, or any of this "blonde slut gets ass destroyed" shite.

I'd much rather watch some old Aunt Peg film where everyone looks like they're enjoying themselves and they have proper porno music.

The LDM Sport "scandal" is silly. She didn't magically become just the right amount of mature on the stroke of midnight on her birthday, so taking the photos the day or week before is about equally as sleazy as taking them on her birthday. The notion that a flip switches that changes a girl (or boy, if you're a gay) both physically and mentally into an adult on their sixteen birthday is stupid. Besides, it's like me and Loki always say... If God didn't want us to be ephebophiles, why did he make schoolgirl the sexiest outfit?

I endorse this post.  Leave our fantasies alone.

This is quite an interesting bit of news about the future of Kink:-

SAN FRANCISCO—Kink.com today announced that it would be shifting direction away from some of its more extreme shoots to focus on a broader audience. In the past year, the company has expanded beyond traditional recorded porn to live events like tours, workshops and parties.

“We’ve been moving in this direction over the past year, and we’ve had many discussions about our company and its mission,” said Kink.com founder Peter Acworth. “We’ve seen tremendous growth in our workshops and educational elements, as well as our bar, and thought that it was time for us to refocus our priorities.”

Two of the company’s sites will no longer be produced; another will be rebranded to better keep with the company mission statement.

“While they were very popular," said Acworth, "we have decided to move away from some of our more extreme products. This entails ceasing to shoot Public Disgrace and Bound in Public, which incorporate audience members and extras, and rebranding HardCoreGangBangs as FantasyGangBangs.

“These changes are taking effect because we aim to refocus on our mission statement of demystifying and celebrating alternative sexualities," he continued. "While these products were highly structured behind the scenes, we felt they did not always convey the negotiated and consensual nature of BDSM as it is actually safely practiced in the real world.  In some instances, the content could confuse the uninitiated viewer.

“After almost two decades in the business," Acworth concluded, "we’re looking to grow in ways that return to our original mission, and so we’re shifting our energies to things like Kink University, enhancing the social aspects of our websites, events in our community center, and adding the ability to buy kink-branded BDSM gear on our sites. In short, we are aiming for Kink.com to become a lifestyle brand. With the mainstreaming of kink as evidenced by the huge popularity of 50 Shades of Grey, we feel there is an opportunity to serve a wider customer base in the future.”

I can well imagine a lot of their fans will be unhappy about this. The thing is about Kink is while I can understand why they might want to tone down some of their more extreme stuff, they have a very transparent style that really does emphasise the performance aspect of what they do with the interviews they do after all their shoots.

But it seems they are shooting more for the mainstream and don't want any more negative publicity, especially after the documentary that was done about them. It's a bit worrying that they would reference 50 Shades Of Grey as well. I would predict a sharp drop in their subscriber base in the next year off the back of this news. As near to the knuckle as they are, Public Disgrace and Bound In Public are awesome sites.

It's not an industry thing - yet. It could go one of two ways, really.

Either other fetish companies could follow Kink's lead and try and get some of that 50 Shades dollar or they could try and step into the gap that Kink leaves behind. There are a few companies that could certainly do the latter.

I think Kink have shit themselves a bit over one or two recent bits of bad publicity over Public Disgrace, especially as they start to get a bit of a mainstream foothold. It's the same thing Manwin did with Brazzers last year, shutting down a couple of their sites once they got a bit of notice on MTV and the like. The main Brazzers brand has certainly suffered as a result, but they have lots of other revenue sources and programs that they have made up for it with.

Kink don't have that though. They are Kink and that's it. If this hits their revenue base then they're not getting it back through any other companies they've hoovered up.

Can't remember who it was, but someone who appeared on one of their videos came out and said that the shooting conditions on Public Disgrace were dangerous and that she did not consent to some of the things that went down.

It's been going this way since the end of Pornstar Punishment, hasn't in? A general paranoia that people can't separate reality from fantasy and with so much focus (rightly) on reducing domestic violence, there's a general backlash against anything that might be considered to condone or encourage abuse - even if what's going on IS between two consenting adults, blah blah blah.

This got them into trouble originally.

Xander Corvus (From Louie Theroux recent porn doc and Dani Daniels boyfriend) cut his cock (according to Mike South) on a Kink set and carried on bonking a actress who tested positive for HIV straight away. In the meantime Xander shot a sex tape with minor celeb which put her in jeopardy.

Both Xander and the celeb now porn star Sydney Leathers got the all clear.

To take away some seediness of knowing this.... The daily mail covered it as well. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2403255/Sydney-Leathers-says-regrets-using-condom-making-porn-film-HIV-scare.html

Absolutely. It's a shame really because it comes just a day or so after they announced they were hiring a sexual health and advocacy director as well. I thought that was a really positive move that would have a knock-on effect for the whole industry but now, unfortunately, it could be viewed somewhat cynically.

I watched the Inside Lara Roxx documentary tonight (it's on Vimeo On Demand if anyone's interested but I think it might be on Amazon Prime as well or something) and it was far better than I expected. You just expect these kinds of documentaries to set out their stall to give porn a good kicking but this one actually doesn't do that.

It also doesn't paint Roxx as holier-than-thou. It was a pretty fascinating film all round and I would definitely recommend you give it a watch.

Meh, I'll shill my review of it here and do an Astro:-

There have been a few retirements recently, but probably most notably a couple of Babestation models, Ava Blue and Camilla Jayne, have both packed it in recently. Sure someone else off there has given it up as well.
