NeverYield Posted August 31, 2024 Posted August 31, 2024 Shohei Ohtani is absolutely incredible. Constantly exceeding expectations. Quote

Constantly exceeding expectations. It may be 20 days on from this statement but yesterday showed it to be true. 6 hits on 6 at bats with 5 extra base hits, 3 home runs, 10 RBI's, and 2 stolen bases. All of that to establish the 50 HR, 50 Stolen Bases club. Not bad for an injured pitcher. Quote
Paid Members FLips Posted September 21, 2024 Paid Members Posted September 21, 2024 Felt like I witnessed history with his 50/50 game and the thing is it's not outside the realm of possibility he gets 60/60 before the season ends. He's the best player I'll see in my lifetime and leaving the Angels was the best thing he ever did. I do quietly seethe though when I see Teoscar Hernandez doing well there, as all Mariners players do when they leave the Mariners. Quote
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted September 21, 2024 Paid Members Posted September 21, 2024 The homer he hit last night was unreal. So high above the zone that it nearly defies physics how he got his bat to it. The sound off the bat when he hits them is something else. Baseball is a game for stats fans, there are so many. Shohei is re-writing what anyone thought was possible, and then when you consider the fact that he could pitch in the post season... Quote

Paid Members FLips Posted October 3, 2024 Paid Members Posted October 3, 2024 Watching the Orioles fall into a slump and barely make the post-season only to get swept sure was a shame. Still better than the Mariners who blew a 10 game lead and didn’t even make it there at all. I’m not a fan of pay-to-win teams in sports but I can’t see past the Dodgers. Ohtani is something else and winning a World Series would be the cherry on top of the season. Quote
Paid Members Gus Mears Posted October 3, 2024 Paid Members Posted October 3, 2024 Man alive. I get the horrible feeling the Yankees will make the World Series. Quote

I don't give two fucks about the rest of them but watching an injured pitcher hit over 50 home runs and steal over 50 bases has been entertaining. Quote

It would be a fitting cap to the season that started with a semi-serious question of him being banned for life. Quote

Paid Members Gus Mears Posted October 4, 2024 Paid Members Posted October 4, 2024 At least my second team is doing the do. LET'S GET MESMERIZED Quote
Paid Members Gus Mears Posted October 21, 2024 Paid Members Posted October 21, 2024 And we've ended up with the most loathsome World Series possible. A hideous, hideous situation in needing to root for the Dodgers. Quote

From a talent standpoint I like the Dodgers, but I struggle to root for a team that bought their way to a world series. That being said the Yankees are trash and I hope they get smashed. Quote
Paid Members Gus Mears Posted October 26, 2024 Paid Members Posted October 26, 2024 First game of the WS was fucking phenomenal. Ace performance from Cole, great defence all over the gaff. Extras, fan interference stopping home runs, grand slam walk off when down to the last out. Need a cold shower. Quote
