They were taken in the Water Park. Tuned out to be a super sunny day which was a pain in the arse because it was so bright.
Keith Houchen
Thought it might have been there, it's really nice. Â We go there and take pictures of the wildlife when we can.

Never been there before, it was a great place for a wander around. The group I was with split into morning and afternoon and the place was covered in fog in the morning and looked amazing. I was gutted I missed it. How's your photography going. Have you taken the plunge and started spending all your money on lenses yet?

Have you taken the plunge and started spending all your money on lenses yet? Well, in the Chorlton FB group, someone was selling a Canon 1300 with a 30-50 and 70-300 lenses.  When she expressed her interest, he replied with the dreaded words "Make me an offer".  I suggested lowballing him with 150 quid and he replied with "Sold".  So she gave me her lenses and we both have a pair to take out with us now! Took these at the Water Park.
Paid Members chokeout Posted March 27, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted March 27, 2018 Thats a bargain! I've not used my 70-300 in ages but it was fav to play around. It's actually a great lens for messing around with portraits
Paid Members Surf Digby Posted March 27, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted March 27, 2018 I love my 70-300mm for portraits. Granted it's not the fastest of lenses, but that's what VR/OS is for and high ISOs are incredible these days. Just fill the frame as much as you can and make sure there's plenty of space behind your subject and it's good to go. Â Â
Keith Houchen
The Swans at the aforementioned Chorlton Water Park have had Cygnets. Â I give you "Reservoir Swans" Â
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted June 5, 2018 Moderators Share Posted June 5, 2018 The majority of photos I've taken recently are all of my daughter and not really of any interest to anyone but my family and me. However. I thought this was a pretty cool shot, even if it does look a bit like an advert for the baby monitor..
Keith Houchen
That's real cool.
Paid Members chokeout Posted June 5, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted June 5, 2018 (edited) That’s a cracking shot, Chest. im still getting on with trying to get 52 portraits done. Really enjoying doing stuff away from the more corporate jobs / weddings and they’ve all been fun so far    Ive also bought a drone for work and have been playing around with that but haven’t really got many photos yet, more for video work. Edited June 5, 2018 by chokeout
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted June 6, 2018 Moderators Share Posted June 6, 2018 (edited) I really like that first portrait of the girl where I assume she is sitting on a swing. Really nice lighting, again. I can feel a warm summer evening just looking at it. Very evocative. Paid Members Monkee Posted June 7, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted June 7, 2018 I was in Normandy over the weekend for the 74th anniversary of D-Day. I took a tonne of photos but I think these two are my favourites: Charles Shay & Alan King at the Utah Beach Museum Utah Beach sunset I uploaded more here - http://bit.ly/normandy2018Â -Â but I took an entire flicker book of the Band of Brothers actors so boredom is likely. All personal one (i.e. photos with me/my friends in them) have been removed.
Paid Members Monkee Posted June 8, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted June 8, 2018 I’m so excited. It got confirmed today that next Thursday I’ll be spending the day with Rankin. He’s probably my all-time favourite photographer alongside David Bailey. I’ve no idea what to wear...
matbro1984
 A photo I got of the International Space Station crossing the moon a few weeks back. Probably the most technically challenging shot I've attempted, and only a matter of seconds to get it. It's a composite of 22 frames stacked on top of each other. Full write up on how to do it here: http://www.mathewbrowne.co.uk/how-to-photograph-an-iss-transit-of-the-moon/
Paid Members chokeout Posted June 24, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted June 24, 2018 Couple more from my (seemingly never ending) attempt to get 52 portraits this year.
