Paid Members Egg Shen Posted July 15, 2015 Author Paid Members Share Posted July 15, 2015 (edited) Bellator friday...   Main Card (Spike TV)Douglas Lima (26-5) vs. Andrey Koreshkov (17-1) - Welterweight TitleChris Honeycutt (6-0) vs. Paul Bradley (22-6)Michael Page (7-0) vs. Rudy Bears (14-11)Brennan Ward (10-3) vs. Gavin Sterritt (6-1)Paul Daley (36-13-2) vs. Dennis Olson (14-8)  excellent wee lineup there feels like a bit of a showcse for some of Bellator's more notable names but it should make for exciting fights. Having Lima & Daley on the same card is likely gonna bring up discussion for that potential fight too.  keep an eye on Chris Honeycutt too, that guys a fucking tank.  ....and for anyone that has Fight Pass, Titan FC 34 airs it's first live show on there this Saturday night after the Scotland show. Solid card, full of UFC & Bellator vets. should be worth a viewing...  be interested to see how the UFC treats Titan, it's giving these guys a platform to perform on, im wondering how often the UFC raids the roster and takes fighters from there, or if there'll be crossover's the other way of any kind?  anyways, here's how it stacks up:   Marcus Edward vs. Pat Healy © - 155 lbs. Title Kurt Holobaugh © vs. Andre Harrison - 145 lbs. Title Brett Johns © vs. Anthony Gutierrez - 135 lbs. Title Tim Elliot vs. Illiard Santos - 125 lbs. Title (Vacant) Jose Landi-Jons vs. Tyler Stinson Freddy Assuncao vs. Cody Bollinger Jason Witt vs. Isaac Vallie-Flagg Phillip Hawes vs. Lucas Rota Desmond Green vs. Vincent Eazelle Sirwan Kakai vs. William Joplin Dakota Cochrane vs. Mike Bruno Cody Peterson vs. TBA.  ...down to see Healy fight. Mike Ricci pulled out, late replacement is a dude called Marcus Edwards, bit of a bummer.  Pele, Isaac Valle-Flagg, Cody Collinger, it's good shit. Interested to see Brett Johns in there too, it's the highest profile Welsh fighter in the sport at the moment... Paid Members Egg Shen Posted July 15, 2015 Author Paid Members Share Posted July 15, 2015 yeh, Askren is kryptonite at 170lb, still the division is probably better off without him because Lima is flourishing and the guy is just killing people. Right hand of room.
seanz25
Watched the Page and Daley fight's, those two looked really great again. Both are really fun to watch fight too. Hopefully they continue on like this. Also caught the fight with an Irish bloke who's name escapes me. He was pretty shit though. Got battered and quickly KO'd.Also according to the Observer there'd been under 10 minutes of actual live fighting in this show within the first 100 minutes of it being on air. Tons of filler. Edited July 18, 2015 by seanz25

Paid Members Egg Shen Posted July 21, 2015 Author Paid Members Share Posted July 21, 2015 (edited) haha nicely played Herb, you know what i mean.  Bellator was a lot of fun until the main event, Douglas Lima just looked out of sorts. Koreshkov mixed it up nicely and Lima looked totally unprepared for the takedown attack, disappointing return for Lima  Daley did his thing, Honeycutt/Bradley will probably have another go at it, Michael Page was ridiculous.  The one downer on the card was the Brennan Ward/Leprechaun fight. There's plenty of beatdowns in MMA, and there's plenty of times when guys just completely overpower and dominate opponents that on paper look fairly matched...but Ward/Leprachaun was as big a mismatch in high level MMA ive seen in a long time, who sanctioned that?  https://www.whipclip.com/video/bx1t9 Edited July 21, 2015 by Ebb
Paid Members Carbomb Posted July 21, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted July 21, 2015 May not be the best time to be asking, but can anyone tell me which of Lima's fights are best to watch? He reads as an exciting fighter, finishing all but three of his wins. Would definitely like to see some of his work.
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted July 22, 2015 Author Paid Members Share Posted July 22, 2015 Check out any of his other Bellator fights (except the Askren fight).
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted July 22, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted July 22, 2015 I'd recommend giving his two fights with Ben Saunders a gander.
David
yeh, Askren is kryptonite at 170lb, still the division is probably better off without him because Lima is flourishing and the guy is just killing people. Right hand of room.  The division is better off without the guy because he was so dominant and so far above anyone else they had on their roster?
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted July 23, 2015 Author Paid Members Share Posted July 23, 2015 yeh i think so...now this ain't anti-Askren, im as big an Askren supporter as there is on here, i always have been. Â But he went 8-0 in the promotion, he's basically cleaned out the division and no one was really clamouring to see him fight any of those guys again. In steps Douglas Lima who starts knocking guys dead and picks up the title, it was a far more exciting proposition, especially with the direction Bellator appear to being going in. Of course post-comment Lima and Koreshkov (two Askren foes) by no means lit the world on fire last weekend, but hindsight is 20/20.
lightningxlock
I've noticed they're showing a ONE FC show on Premier Sports tonight. Is there likely to be anything worthwhile on it? I've never watched ONE FC before. Â It's a busy night for fight fans what with UFC, the Kovalev fight on Boxnation and the Blackwell fight on Channel

The only downside is the lack of recognisable names, its worth a look though.
