well, Melvin's Bellator debut didn't go as planned. Decent main event, Melvin came on strong in round 3 and somehow won the fight on 1 judges scorecard but he spent the first two rounds more worried about what Girtz was going to do rather than mounting any offence of his own. Coker had to be a little pissed, he mentioned earlier in the night that the winner of the main event might get the next crack at Will Brooks...Guillard even said pre-fight that he'd be willing to fight his teammate. Ahhhh well, he picked to fight Girtz, be careful what you ask for i guess.

Rest of the card wasn't great, Pitbull/Awad was decent but it felt like a 3 round feeling out process. So happy to see Justin Wren win, i'll give him a pass on his poor conditioning due to his circumstances, skill-wise though he looked decent! Josh Burns however might need to think about hanging em up, shamelessly out of shape, if there was a ever a poster-boy for stereotypical bouncers fighting in MMA, he'd be it.

The Bellator/GLORY Dynamite card for Sep 19th of shaping up.

MAIN CARD

Liam McGeary vs Tito Ortiz (Bellator Light Heavyweight Title) (MMA)

Saulo Cavalari vs Zack Mwekassa (Kickboxing)

Josh Thomson vs Mike Bronzoulis (MMA)

Paul Daley vs Fernando Gonzalez (Kickboxing)

Keri Anne Taylor-Melendez vs Hadley Griffith (Kickboxing)

Phil Davis vs Emanuel Newton (MMA)

King Mo Lawal vs Linton Vassell (MMA)

PRELIMS

Francis Carmont vs Philipe Lins (MMA)

Jose Palacios vs TJ Arcangel (Kickboxing)

Ousmane Thomas Diagne vs Mike Malott (MMA)

Love that main card. McGeary should smash Tito, as little as that actually means in 2015, it's a big name scalp for his record. I like the mix of MMA and kickboxing. Daley in a straight kickboxing bout should be fun to watch. Cavalari vs Mwekassa will be violent. And you've got King Mo and the Bellator debuts of Phil Davis and Josh Thomson.

Oh and Keri Anne Taylor-Melendez is the wife of Gilbert 'Giblert' Melendez.

If (when) McGeary beats Tito in devastating fashion do we think Dana will come calling? He's probably my favourite fighter outside of the UFC at the moment.

Yeh Chunk, the tournament is still happening. Davis/Newton, Mo/Vassell is the opening round. Final will be later in the night.

Lins/Carmont is the reserve fight.

Its a great card.

Isn't he under a multi-fight contract with Bellator though?

Bellator Dynamite is this Saturday. Really feels like the MMA world is getting on board to get on board with the concept and people are enjoying the things Bellator are bringing to the table. It really does have a Japanese MMA feel to it and i'm a big fan of that, it just feels like every fight has it's own intrigue rather than being a straight cookie cutter MMA card.

Liam McGeary vs. Tito Ortiz (205lb Title Fight)

TBA vs. TBA (205lb Tournament Final)

Josh Thomson vs. Mike Bronzoulis

King Mo vs. Linton Vassell (205lb Tournament Semi-Final)

Emmanuel Newton vs. Phil Davis (205lb Tournament Semi-Final)

Roy Boughton vs. Francis Carmonit (205lb Tournament Reserve Fight)

Saulo Cavalari vs. Zack Mwekassa (Glory Rules Lightweight Title Fight)

Paul Daley vs. Fernando Gonzales (Glory Rules)

Hadley Griffith vs. Kerri-Ann Taylor Mendez (Glory Rules)

that's the main card, one or two of those may end up on Spike TV, there's 20 fights in all including the local type prelims Bellator like to put on.

WSOF, BAMMA (live on Spike TV over here) and Titan FC (live on Fight Pass) also happen this weekend, pick the bones out of that lot. Everyone needs to watch Gaethje/Palomino 2 on WSOF though.

I think the MMA/Glory fights will happen side by side all night, be interesting to see how it translates in a live setting, and how they set it all up with seating etc.
