I retired from festivals after the last time I went to 2000 Trees as I couldn’t hack it like I used to and I now have a very small child. 
 

Reuben are my favourite band of all time. 
2000 Trees is my favourite festival. 
It’s two weeks before my 40th birthday. 

I get home from work and the first thing my wife says is “I guess you’re going to Trees next year. Why don't you and your pals go for your birthday?”

@SuperBacon Club NME used to be held at Welly, which is still open although nowhere near as often as it used to as it was a notorious drugs den and was raided several times.

Ozzfest 2027 has been announced, although no lineup has been unveiled as yet.

 

Tickets go on sale tomorrow

No Villa Park date is shocking. Also, having a countdown and not announcing any bands is an odd choice.

Download are announcing next Thursday at 9pm, and they made that known before the Ozzfest countdown appeared as they do a whole thing in London for it, so presumably there’s some contractual reason as to why Ozzfest hasn’t announced anyone yet. Not that there will be much crossover between the two, but there could be a small number of acts that could end up playing both

I’m 99% sure Blink 182 are headlining Download one of the days. I imagine maybe Slipknot for Ozzfest?

In fairness they've said Villa Park was the plan but there's construction work scheduled over the summer meaning it's just not available, hence the move to MK.  Though if it turns out to be a success it'll be interesting to see if they go back to (the lower capacity) Villa Park for 2028.

The bowl is a much higher capacity and a better venue in general for a festival than a football ground, but if they really wanted to do it at villa park I’m sure they could have.  The stage would be setup in front of the north stand anyway (where they are doing the construction).

I'd be very surprised if it's Slipknot given they're playing Wembley the week before and appear to be struggling to shift tickets for it (unsurprisingly given the prices).  Marilyn Manson is supporting them though, so he could be a good shout given he was tight with Ozzy and Sharon.

I'm genuinely interested in who's going to be announced for ozzfest. My friends raging speedhorn played the last time back in 2001 I believe and have told me some incredible stories from it. 

I imagine yungblood is a almost guarantee but genuinely intrigued who else
