I've been really enjoying this album. I don't listen to their first three albums that much but really enjoy all their output from Crack The Skye onwards. 

In fact, apart from one Ghost album (Meliora) they're pretty much the only 'modern' metal I listen to.. I'm super out of the loop.

Is there any other albums or bands that you guys would recommend to check out? I like heavy but it needs to be melodic as well. Not a huge fan of overly shouty vocals these days.

I just came here to post the same thing. I wasn't expecting much but it's genuinely atrocious. Releasing stuff on your own label is great for being able to do what you want, but sometimes you really do need label execs higher up to tell you when something is shit and to shelve it.

Went into Camden tonight as there was a tech death metal double header on. I vaguely knew Allegaeon, but had never heard of Gorod.

Allegaeon were excellent, but Gorod were a full 10/10. Absolutely superb.

I've seen a lot of bands this year as I try and go to as many gigs as possible before turning 40 (including supports and festivals i've seen 113 bands - yes, i'm keeping a spreadsheet), but i've only got a handful of 10/10s;

Dragged Into Sunlight, Earthless, Goose, Blood Incantation, Death to All and now Gorod.

As always when I get a 10, I buy a t-shirt from the merch stand... and then on the journey home, as the post gig clarity sets in, I realise band shirts are always horrible and the only place i'll ever wear it will be at home or other gigs. Worth it.

Chad Gilbert from New Found Glory has passed away aged 45. Haven't listened to anything new since Not Without A Fight, but I unashamedly love most of that early stuff.

Once chose watching them over Smashing Pumpkins at Reading and never regretted it, it was superb.

New Found Glory have been one of my all time favourites since I got into to pop punk. Devastating news, I know he’s been battling cancer for a few years now but it still sucks

Poor fucker was absolutely riddled with cancer the past few years. A terrible way to go. As well as playing guitar, he produced three albums for A Day To Remember. Including their best one, What Seprates Me From You.

Ahhh horrible news that. I'd seen recent-ish photos and the guy looked really rough, the poor fucker went through it.

Seminal band for me though, obvioslusly had the big Scuzz hits, but the S/T album was a main stay in my headphones back in the day. I don't listen to a of pop-punk these days but I do have a New Found Glory session if im ever going too. I think the band are putting out their best material later in their career too and Gilbert was always the driving force behind the writing. RIP.
