Paid Members Halitosis Romantic Posted April 28, 2012 Paid Members Posted April 28, 2012 The thing about Marley is that for a lot of people he IS reggae. Go to youtube, search for a popular reggae or reggae-esque song, and you'll probably find that someone has uploaded it to youtube as a Bob Marley song. Fuck, I bet some people even say that he did the old Vitalite ad.
Richie Freebird Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell (1974). This is a British film that
Paid Members Chris B Posted April 28, 2012 Paid Members Posted April 28, 2012 This was actually the last of four Frankenstein films made by Hammer Film Productions, so I should
Richie Freebird Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Actually, there are six that feature Cushing alone. They're all decent to good. The first two, in particular, are excellent. Cool, thanks for that. I haven
Mr. Seven Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Saw The Avengers. It's fun in places but about as long as one of Richie's posts about old movies and thus quite monotonous at times. Kind of amazed that Scarlett Johansson is basically called a 'cunt' in it. A star for that alone.
The King Of Swing Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Enjoyed The Avengers but I really didn't give two shits about Black Widow (who seemed to be there just to fill the nice arse in tight outfit role) and Hawkeye. Thor and Loki were ace.

jimufctna24 Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 (edited) Watched We Need To Talk About Kevin last night. Some films you can doze of and lose interest in and miss certain parts, this was not one of them. I was gripped all the way through. Cracking film. Will have to go see Marley myself at some point. Watched Kevin mself a while back. Refreshing to see John C Reilly in a more serious role. Cant believe Kevin also played Beccas boyfriend in Californication
Joey Joe Joe Jr Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 (edited) Initially I thought Reilly was just an ugly Ferrell. I then enjoyed him a lot in Dewey Cox, but since then I've seen him in loads of straight roles and whenever I see that he's in a film I'm about to sit down to, I look forward to it a bit more. Richie Freebird Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 (edited) Watched the original King Kong (1933) today, it was fucking awesome. There are some fantastically dread inducing scenes in the film, other than the famous Empire State building scene. The scene with the film crew shooting, bombing and killing a stegosaurus was a pretty memorable sequence as was Kong fighting a Tyrannosaurus, which he ultimately kills by prizing its jaws apart. The musical score does a good job of keeping the focus in the monster scenes with no dialogue, and also does a great job of relaying the fear in the scene in New York where Kong destroys an elevated railway line. By the end of the film when Kong falls to his death, you get a sense of sympathy for the beast, and begin to realize that Kong himself is the true victim in the story. Kong brawls with the T-Rex. Yes, some of the stop motion animation techniques look a bit dated by today Edited April 29, 2012 by Richie Freebird
Cobra1000 Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Just went to see The Avengers, pretty ace. The last hour is nothing short of spectacular, however the first 30 mins of the assembling was rather dull.
patiirc Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Went to the cinema and watched Avengers Assemble, twas a good film. It went on a bit too long in places but nothing causing major headaches in terms of spoiling the whole thing SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read Thor getting pasted by Hulk as an aside after bringing down one of the base ships was extremely funny.
