patiirc Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Add me to the Sneakers is quite good list. Actually, I lie, I think its superb. It has a little bit of fright, some great spy movie piss taking in it and a glut of actors including David Straithairn, Donal Logue and so on Still cant stop calling The Pres in Battlestar, Liz, though. It gets strange looks and no one really gets the link, bastards Setec Astronomy indeed

lava_boy Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 I saw the Alfred Hitchcock collection in there and was tempted. Birds, Vertigo, Psycho and another I can't recall, I didn't think that was bad.

Loki Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Watched The American last night. I can't understand the bar reviews it picked up - what an elegant thriller! I could watch films like that all day. All the story was delivered through acting and good direction rather than dialogue, which was minimal. Clooney is a fucking hero, he's the biggest movie star in the world but chooses to make quality films like this,
Paid Members Thunderplex Posted January 14, 2012 Paid Members Posted January 14, 2012 Spent the morning watching Arena, 80's Style Death Match type movie. Plenty of violence, gore, pointless nudity, bad script and Samuel L Jackson. I loved it! Also had the usual training montage, but it featured the craziest push-ups I have ever seen. I could never be that fit.

CorpRobinson Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Recently Watched : Karate for Life - Brilliant Sonny Chiba Karate movie The Violent Kind - DIdnt really get it honestly like a scifi horror flick, wouldnt recommend Lake Mungo - Absolutely creepy as hell gotta be watched Grave Encouters - brilliant well worth the watch scary, creepy and well made. The Tunnel - Didnt know what to think really creepy as hell and spooky but the whole film was just a little strange Abashiri Prison - Absolutely brilliant B/w japanese prison movie well worth finding The Signal - I could watch this movie over and over again i love how its made and put together.
ItsClobberingTime Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Anyone tried Netflix yet? Signed up for the free month today. Don't really like the interface, and the selection is limited at best, but there's a few TV shows I'll be making my way through. Currently started Twin Peaks.
The King Of Swing Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Pretty limited like you said but not too bad and it has the 4400 on it which I have been meaning to watch for a long time.

Seen some of those recently. Agree with Lake Mungo, Grave Encounters, the Tunnel and The Signal. I hear that there are a few other Signal episodes that were filmed and may be released in the future. Hope so. I watched The Violent Kind twice. First time I agreed with you, as had no idea what it was about befofe I watched it, and as a result, I thought it was supposed to be a gritty drama, and then things happened to change that, which completely confused me. A buddy recommended that I watch it again, and 2nd time, I really enjoyed it, so give it another go, it might work for you.
Magnum Milano Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Got copies of Seasons Six and Seven of The Office earlier this week and have just finished Season Six. Overall I enjoyed it, despite in 'Mafia', it featuring my least favourite episode ever. A couple of the characters have run their course and don't really offer anything to the show anymore (Meredith and especially Ryan, plus I wonder if whether BJ Novak wasn't a writer and producer whether the character would still be around as he offers so little). The Erin and Andy relationship doesn't work for me and Kevin's character just appears to be nothing more than a permanent moron. Liking what I've seen of Gabe, Kathy Bates' appearances and Daryl's promotion from the warehouse to the Office. Always enjoy the Toby and Michael scenes and Dwight is probably the MVP on the show at the moment.
John Galt Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Don't bother with Paris; it's a dull film that goes nowhere and ends up completely average even though it's got Albert Dupontel, Fran
King Pitcos Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Pretty limited like you said but not too bad and it has the 4400 on it which I have been meaning to watch for a long time. I bought the first (only?) season of that on DVD years ago and never ever watched it. I'm considering signing up for the Netflix trial -- apparently a UK account will also work as a US account, you just have to sort out a VPN thing to trick it into thinking you're in the US. So it'd be nice to have that option, if I found the UK selection too small. But I've been wanting to watch Arrested Development and that's on there so I might give it a go regardless.
The King Of Swing Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 4400 lasted four seasons all of which are on Netflix, never knew about the US account thing so I'll have to keep that in mind. It's is worth giving the free month a go imo and you can cancel any time you want and they accept paypal which is pretty convenient.
