The shining moment of Ashton Kuthcer's career in my opinion.b]

I disagree. His 'abominable snowman' scene in That 70's Show is one of many hilarious scenes in that program where he shines.

Steven Hyde: [drawing a correlation with Kelso thinking he saw a UFO] Kelso, do you remember that time you thought you saw the abominable snowman?

Kelso: Yeah...

Steven Hyde: And what did it turn out to be?

Kelso: [not getting Hyde's point] Just a regular snowman...

Ever seen The Hot Spot, Ebb? Oh dear lord she is lovely in that.

no, but it's about to go on my rental list.

As for me, i watched The Full Monty last night, i fucking love it. My housemate laughed at me for watching it, and said it reminded him of 'mums', but i don't care, it's a great little british comedy. Anything involving Robert Carlyse is a win for me and he's fucking great in this, i'd love to see him do more comedic roles. I remember this being everywhere when when it was released, time's been good to it as well and it's still pretty fucking funny.

It's actually a really cracking little modern day film noir, Dennis Hopper directed it. Virginia Madsen is also ridiculously fit in it as well.

The best part that doesn't nudity or women is the bit in the bank. You'll know it when you see it.

Anyone seen Let Me In?

I've not seen the remake, but I found the original very underwhelming after all the praise I'd seen it get.

Same here, what was all the fuss about and why was I tricked into watching a movie about children?

Last night I watched Martyrs

Which I was told by my lass is the most extreme horror film she'd ever seen and she had to turn it off twice before finishing it.

I was expecting torture porn but was pleasantly surprised that it's pretty clever and totally gripping. There are some pretty rough moments though, I'd be interested to hear if anyone on here's seen it. I don't want to give too much of the plot away because I knew nothing of it going in and it was better for it but it's about a girl who gets extremely badly abused and eventually escapes and why that happened.

It's in French BTW.

Yeah i watched this not long ago and enjoyed it, not what i was expecting. It was pretty harsh and graphic in places. The fact that it was very original helped aswell.

watched Robocop 1 & 2 back to back last night. Pure nostalgia-fest, I think Robocop 2 gets an unfair amount of flack, as a sequel i think it holds up pretty well, you've got some over the top villains who you just wanna see get smashed, it's got the violence, it's got the commercial satire, it's also got some real lousy special effects but it's a decent watch all the same.

I'm gonna go onto 3 now which i know is meant to be the shits (and i haven't actually seen).

Highlander

Well ive had this on DVD for some time, and seen it before many times, although for some reason really wanted to watch it again.

So last night i did so! All i can say is, although i think its a decent movie, im sure most would disagree as its sort of mildly terrible. And also i didnt know the chritopher lambert was french in real life........or did most people know that?

Any way sean connerey is good in this film, and most other people are, including lambert himself (although his scottish accent is so dire its unreal!), but again i like it.

Of course if you havent see it, look away now! As Lamert wins "The prize" in the end, which or course makes any other sequels/TV series' totally irrelevent, and slightly pointless.

All i can say is, a good movie that may not of aged well, but if your willing to give in to the story and ignore a few bits and bobs, its a decent movie, (with a wrestling match featuring the freebirds!!! ~!), and of course a kick ass sounds track done by queen!

7/10, not the best and again not aged very well, but give it ago and you might like it!

I've got some foreign films recommended by a friend lined up for the next week..

Michael Haneke's 'Funny Games'

Miike Takashi's 'Audition'

Battle Royale

Looking forward to Battle Royale the most as I've heard great things about it.

All three are good. Very different from each other.

Audition is a bit weird, but parts of it are memorable.

Funny Games I suppose is in a similar mould to I Spit On Your Grave/Last House on the Left etc, though looks a bit better at least.

Battle Royale is definitely my favourite out of those.
