Twatters
, if it had 40% more action and 40% less Mexican stuff  That was my problem with it. I just didn't want to say it in case I offended any gringos...  I think it was enough of a push for Mexicans to have the hero of the movie be an old hideous Mexican who's really tough and beloved by all women, it should've been him in all out action, the whole Mexican revolutionary theme bored me plus (extremely mild spoiler ahead) SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read there was a scene where Machete stuck a gattling gun to the front of a motorbike and only used it for about 10 seconds! What the fuck? If my hero stuck a badass gun on a badass chopper he'd be shooting people with it for 20 minutes!   And that's one of the reason why i loved Machete so much! It's like he used that for 10 seconds, killed loads of people and then onto the next weapon. I went to see it on Friday and thought it was great. The opening sequence is how all films should start. Also watched Louis C.K - Chewed Up. An American stand-up for people who don't know him. It's basically all about him being 40 and how life kinda sucks. Very funny, only about an hour. But it's 2.99 on Play atm, so worth picking up.

Paid Members neil's bitch Posted November 29, 2010 Paid Members Share Posted November 29, 2010 Sweeny Todd  Ok so i'll make this brief, all the actors are good in it, the acting is fine......i just dont get musicals. I understand the idea etc, but i just thought most of the songs for this particual musical where , well, bad.  Again, some might like them, and i have seen musicals which i actually like, but in this particular film i just thought all the musical number where very bad, meaning in this case very poorly written. Again the actual musical score was well done, mainly just the lyrics for me.....very bad.  So im guessing if you like that sort of thing it'd be worth a watch, but its not chicago by a long shot.  for me, 4/10.........a little bit rubbish. SpiralTap
Day: Saturday Time: Evening Audience: The good lady and I Film: Scooby Doo Rating: 0.2 stars Comments: Shit. Scored 0.1 for the appearance of Scrappy Doo and Sarah Michelle Gellar's dress. Â How dare you? Â Granted its not a cult classic or a masterpiece of any kind, its still the 1st ever live action scooby doo movie which in itself deserves more than a 0.2 rating just for exsisting. Â I demand a re-review.
Paid Members Bellenda Carlisle Posted November 29, 2010 Paid Members Share Posted November 29, 2010 Sweeny Todd  I hate that film, the music isn't catchy, that's the worst crime for me. I thought a musical was a film with a few proper songs in it, this is just singing every line of dialogue in the whole movie with no real tune to speak of. aaron
Wall-E So Mrs T bought this on DVD the other week and although we'd allready seen it, we thought we'd chuck the dvd on for no real reason. (Also the extra of the animated short "Presto!" is one of the funniest things Pixar have done, ever. And thats saying something considering its a 5+ min short film. I suggest you check it out if you havent!).  Bar that Wall-E is of course the story of a little rubbish collecting robot left behind on earth whilst the rest of the planet leave until its done. For some reason he's the only one left, but is content in his role. Another robot turns up from the human ship in space, called EVE. She is looking for signs of natural life so that the humans may return.  I wont spoil it if you havent seen it, but i will dare say this is the best movie pixar have done, (again i dare say it), even better than toystory. I'll guess you'd have to make up your own mind, but this film is a gem in the pixar history, and in some parts can really make you think about where life is heading, (mainly the fat people in chairs, drinking food from cups and not taking there eyes off the screens in front of them).  totally amazing film, worth a watch/buy and/or rent  9/10  Still not got round to seeing this yet.  Is it better than Toy Story 3 because I don't see how Pixar can top that?  Either way, it is going on my list, so I will see it soon enough. I would say that although toy story 3 is amazing, as is the whole series, im going out on a limb and saying wall-e is the best movie pixar have ever made.  DOnt know if anybody else would agree, but i personally think that in the world of pixar this (for some reason to me) seems to be the most realistic. Again im aware its about robots/the future/space travel etc, but the robots behave like robots (if that makes sense) and it all just seems more plausable rather than talking cars/toys/bugs etc.  Give it watch, either way if you watch it, be sure to watch the "presto!" feature, as its also gold.  I would say that Toy Story 1 and 3 are way more enjoyable than Wall-E. Toy Story 1 being truly iconic and Toy Story 3 made me cry a little like the hype suggested it would.  Wall-E left me a bit disappointed given the hype but it was a decent film. Nothing more than that IMO. I watched it. Enjoyed it. Barely thought about it since. The stuff they done to make you think just left me cursing Disney schmultz. Nothing clever. Just stuff to make kids green I guess.  I watched Inception last week. If you like action films, you should like this. However, I thought it was a bit shit and want to slap the writers for misleading me with the awesome trailers. What a waste of time. If you like a SWERVE~ then, ok, you won't be pissed like I was.  Ratings: Toy Story 1 = ***** Toy Story 3 = ****1/4 Wall-E = **1/2 Inception = **1/4  Oh, and I saw Looking For Eric last week too. This was a touching film and had me thinking about bits of it over the next day. Some cartoon villains but the films about the heroes. I liked how they pieced together the back-story and the man himself gives the film an extra star. Nice film.  Looking For Eric = ***1/2  Ah, and I saw Shank too. As I made it to the end of the film... * Nothing noteworthy here. Its all been covered in the films Harry Brown (****1/2), Kidulthood (***3/4) and Adulthood (****) instead.  I saw Fanboys too. Despite my love of Star Wars this was still pretty poor with some gaps in the story not fully explained (that I noticed anyway). Rating = *1/4 Edited November 29, 2010 by aaron

Paid Members Scott Malbranque Posted November 29, 2010 Paid Members Share Posted November 29, 2010 Open Water : Â It's still the worst movie I've ever seen, with the Mirror Has Two Fa(e)ces and Monsters creeping up the rear, and I only watched it again because a mate wouldn't shut up at me to give it another chance. I had a peddle and banged one out to Blanchard Ryan's incredible areola, but everything after that was septic. And not because I was spent and lost interest, purely because it was genuinely the least interesting movie I've ever seen. it's 'sequel' Adrift was better, and that was horrendous... I can't stress enough how little I enjoyed two people bobbing in water talking about their relationship with a sustained threat of being eaten by a fleet of seemingly midget Tiger Sharks. Paid Members Scott Malbranque Posted November 29, 2010 Paid Members Share Posted November 29, 2010 (edited) Yes sir, Nev. Yes sirree bob, I am. Â I was very excited about it actually, the concept was good and I do love my post-apocalyptic (for want of a term given the subject matter) bleak flicks, but after an interesting start, it wound up being...well, just terrible. Like Open Water and Right At Your Door, I reckon it will be a Marmite for movie goers... Edited November 29, 2010 by Scott Malbranque

Paid Members Scott Malbranque Posted November 29, 2010 Paid Members Share Posted November 29, 2010 (edited) Right At Your Door. Shittest film ever (along with Hancock and the Nines)  Don't get me started on the Nines. I'm a whore for Reynolds, and even I couldn't stomach the poxy, schmalzy third act   Read a five-star review of Monsters (granted it was in Empire). What's so bad about it?  I don't really trust Empire, not after they gave the Descent five stars. I did like The Descent and all, but a five star movie it was not. I'm still of the opinion and mantain they gave it five stars because Neil Marshall was writing for them, giving them full access, first scoops etc. It just drags and it's 'message' is up it's own arse, and basically winds up as two hours of a relationship movie. It's not as clever as it likes to think it is. Basically, the lead actor is as bad as Cary Elwes in the first Saw and it took me out of many a scene. I could be wrong, and it could be a masterpiece, but I just didn't enjoy it. Edited November 29, 2010 by Scott Malbranque
