Jericho looked as confused as anyone. Massive fuck up on the refs part by all accounts. Because Neidhart is old and probably on crack, he was only going to take the move to a certain point (he certainly wasnt going to have his neck bent like you usually do with the Liontamer), but dip shit Billy Silverman never called for the bell when Jericho put his leg behind the Anvil's neck. Then Silverman calls for the bell, and the bell doesn't ring. Then Neidhart tried to act like he'd passed out from the pain, but Jericho tries turning him. Its something that could only happen in WCW. This shit happened all the time on those Nitros. WCW's referees were horrendous, and the road agents usually didnt know the format of the show until it was happening. This was a company where in the biggest match of the year, the referee cocked up a fast count. The fact Jericho was wrestling Jim Neidhart to begin with was ridiculous. A massive clash of styles if there ever was one. And out of all those old school wrestlers from the 80s, Neidhart didnt seem to care about jobbing to anyone ever, so I doubt it was done on purpose.
