From what I've read more recently they just seem like fairly standard WWE PPVs - I can't imagine the Saudi royal family have become less demanding in their tastes! Sorry for the double post but I suspect they ran out of people to book. Undertaker retired, Goldberg retired, HBK refuses to do another. Cena is retired. Sting went to AEW. They can't really do the mad ppv bollocks anymore. Quote

Perhaps she's spent physically, but I'd love to have seen her stick around and eventually mix it up with the likes of Mercedes, Toni, Willow and Thekla. All dream matches for me that I'd not considered until this thread. She had been done for a while. During GLOW i believe there were some Andre the Giant Princess Bride smoke and mirrors used to work around her back issues. Quote

I actually think they have seen what they wanted to see and are happy to let the rest play out under the conditions they set. Plus they have been reining in the spending quite a bit in other areas. There is a limit to blood money. Quote

I don't agree with roughing up rookies but he was an arrogant tosser. In what was billed as a shoot match wasn't it, or some legit challenge as Kurt had done a shoot with another contestant and broke his ribs. Puder didn't try shooting if the situation literally was that surely. I'm not sure if I'm misremembered it all. I think Kurt was actually crying foul because the shoot move was actually illegal. The Reverend Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago As he's been popping up on various social media this week as having had a wrestling match at some ancient age, Baron Von Raschke popping up as The Poers of Pain manager 'The Baron' at Summerslam '88 - I think I saw a couple of TV tapings shortly before, but other than that, nothing Quote

Don't even think he did house shows. Quote

Compound that with someone like Daniel Puder or Bart Gunn who is put in an unscripted situation, then punish them for not following the script that only existed in the booker's head. Madness. In both cases, even if you're annoyed that things didn't go the way you wanted, would you not roll with the punches and at least try and get one decent story or match out of it? Rather than sending Daniel Puder out to be battered by the old guard in a Rumble, would you not book at least one match with him against Kurt Angle to capitalise on an unexpected moment? It doesn't have to be PPV, doesn't have to go long, doesn't even have to make Puder look good, but at least you get something you can sell for a night. Same with Bart Gunn - he wins the Brawl For All, sure, he's not who they wanted to win it, but he can't get a title shot against Austin on RAW, just so the top guy can show he's "tougher" than the guy who won the tough man contest? This always bugged me as well, especially as it was McMahon's project. You would have thought he would have either set things up so that it wouldn't end up pissing off the veterans, or at least protected the TE guys a bit better, in light of it being his idea. But, then, that presumes that VKM's motivation was anything other than trying to make cheap content and a quick buck off the reality TV trends of the time. 5 hours ago, The Reverend said: The Poers of Pain Sounds like they should be posters on here Quote
Paid Members Hannibal Scorch Posted 3 hours ago Paid Members Posted 3 hours ago Has Shanna been mentioned? it’s an odd one because she was technically there for 2 years. Only wrestled 4 matches apparently and then binned off despite her being announced as signing a 3 year deal. I can’t remember a single match tbh. Quote

Sadie Gibbs seemed to be someone they had an idea for and COVID just seemingly ended all of that. There was also Kayla Rossi, this really jacked athletic woman who was Joey Janela's 'Chyna' on-screen after he turned heel on Sonny Kiss. She was off TV when Joey left and they just never found another idea for her. Quote

Probably not been mentioned because two years is not a fast binning. Quote

Didn't Awesome Kong have to take time away from WWE just after she signed because she was pregnant? Braden Walker was one of the fake Stings whenever Sting did that thing where he'd take off his Sting mask to reveal he was really Sting. Weren't there also rumours he'd sometimes play Sting at house shows? He obviously also tagged with James Storm in American's Most Wanted in TNA. Earthquake was briefly Giant Golga in the Oddities. I’m sure on Bruce Prichard’s podcast(so take it with a pinch of salt) the original plan was for Nunzio to be in Kurt’s spot as Heyman always wanted to use him on TV as a legit shooter(not Tommy Dreamer) but then plans changed and they used Angle. If Puder had broken Nunzio’s arm it probably wouldn’t have been such a big deal given where he was on the card at the time. Speaking of Nunzio it reminded me of another short lived gimmick which didn’t last more than a few months before he was released which was when Vito started wearing a dress. Lasted a couple of months then he was taken off TV and released. Quote
