All I remember was that one match on Raw against Droz where Regal turned up out of shape, injured and drugged up and I don’t think he was seen again until he cleaned his act up and returned in 2000 and did the Commissioner Regal thing. Was that it for that run, one match? Oh no my friend. He was back for about 2 months in late 98, he was still out of shape, still off his tits, but we got this entrance theme out of it. Quote

Infinity Land Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago This is a bit of a cheat. Road Warrior Animal's run in WCW 2001. Comes out of nowhere. Technically MAIN EVENTS a PPV. As he's the mystery man in a 4 Corners World Title match where he turns up towards the end of the match. Yes, WCW was trying to reheat the 96 third man mystery vibe with Animal. It wa a horrible plan at the time, made that much worse by the unfortunate circumstance of Sid snapping his leg like a twig. Animal strolls to the ring for a 3 on 1 beatdown on Sid. Sid having spent the better part of 5 minutes in the middle of the ring with his foot flopping about in agony while this angle is forced to play out. Animal's then part of the Magnificent 7 angle until the company dies. His last match for WCW: teaming with Kanyon in a loss on Thunder to...MI Smooth & The Cat?!?! Quote

I seem to remember Regal have a match on Raw in mid 1998, basically in the blue blood gimmick, then disappearing for a bit before the man’s man stint WWF in 1998 was a strange, they hyped up Brackus for ages for him to get beat in the Brawl for All and then wrestle about 2 matches. Tiger Ali Singh, suddenly started appearing again after being off TV for months and doing a rehash of the Million Dollar Man money for fans routine Quote

Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted 17 hours ago Paid Members Posted 17 hours ago Not exactly ‘debut to departure’ because it wasn’t his debut but Jeff Jarrett’s WWF return from late 95 to early 96 was so brief I often forget it happened. When I think of Double J in the WWF, it always feels to me like he left after the Shawn match in July 95 then never came back until ponytail Jeff rocked up doing shooty promos in late 97. I nearly always forget that little return in late 95 unless I’m thinking about Ahmed’s mega over early run… Quote
davertfnewman Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Double J apparently jumped off the apron onto Ahmed at a house show and had a shock go up his back so bad (of course, he could've been feigning it) that he never came back and left for WCW in the autumn. Got replaced in cage matches by Tatanka, who was also back from suspension and seemingly finishing up his contract before WrestleMania, including getting matches in the main event against Bret in India. Were being brought in to feud with the Harts for the belts because the runs with the Bulldogs and Killer Bees had ran their course. Appeared on one house show in St Paul to challenge the Harts (a convenience, as they were based in Minnesota while working for the AWA) then taped one squash match in New York which I believe has never seen the light of day. Rubbed a few guys the wrong way in the locker room including Andre, partied a little too hard that night, got sacked. One and done. Quote

I want to say when Shawn ratted him out for being asleep backstage. That was post Rumble 1993 tapings. Shawn grassed him up because the match was a bit underwhelming for them and next day Marty was asleep backstage (resting or off his bonce, we don't know), but Shawn said that's why it wasn't that good. So because Jannetty had previous and only just come back, plus Vince fancying Shawn and having his ear, Marty gets shitcanned. Few months later Curt Hennig finds out that Shawn was also off his bonce the night before the Rumble and rightly grassed up Shawn trying to shift the blame, so that's how Jannetty got hired back in May and got his IC Title run. I think his VERY short return was 2006. Returned to help Shawn, the Kiss My Ass segment and then I think they found out there was loads of states he couldn't enter, because he was Marty Jannetty. Chico Torres Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Koko B Ware returned to the WWF around March 1994, had matches against Double J, Bastion Booger, IRS and others but was gone for good by the summer. Thankfully we were gifted with the match we had all been waiting for as the legendary team went from friends to enemies Quote
Infinity Land Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago (edited) Ahmed Johnson gets a mention. I try to forget his time in WCW 2000. Quote After being inactive for close to two years, Norris signed a contract with World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and debuted at Souled Out in January 2000 as a heel. He gained a massive amount of weight at this time, and was aptly named Big T. He interfered in a match between Harlem Heat tag team partners and real-life brothers, Booker T and Stevie Ray. He attacked Booker, causing Stevie Ray to be disqualified. Big T and Stevie Ray formed the tag team Harlem Heat 2000. At SuperBrawl, he defeated Booker to earn the rights to the Harlem Heat name and the letter T. At Uncensored, he and Stevie lost to Booker and Billy Kidman. At Spring Stampede, they participated in a five-team tag team tournament for the vacant World Tag Team Championship, where they lost to the eventual winners Shane Douglas and Buff Bagwell in the semi-finals of the tournament. He was released by WCW shortly afterwards due to ongoing weight issues. Booker T going on to feud over a shampoo ad was actually an improvement. _______________________ Also Brian Lee's stint as the fake Undertaker. Works some TV and house shows a couple months before the SummerSlam '94 match. Then it was back to SMW. Edited 13 hours ago by Infinity Land Quote
Chico Torres Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago (edited) Mentioned Typhoons very brief run in the summer of 94 but should also note that Earthquakes run in 94 was very short, especially since he was the senior ranking member of The Natural Disasters and a first ballot UKFF hall of famer. The grizzled veteran (then aged 30, younger than Liv Morgan is currently) showed up around January, squashed Adam Bomb at Wrestlemania, had a sumo match with Yoko and…I think that was it? Don’t think he even made it as far as the King of the Ring qualifiers. 30 years old Edited 9 hours ago by Chico Torres Quote
