Paid Members Statto Posted April 23 Paid Members Posted April 23 Think the take in there on the Reese/Bailey debate is about right - Bailey probably has the higher floor right now (although in a 3-year career at Stanford/Texas Tech he didn't see a whole lot of NFL tackles...) but Reese probably has the higher ceiling. Think it'll probably come down to how much pressure that front office is feeling to get it right right now. Quote

Dont think Bailey falls as far as my Titans at 4, and from all the rumours its looks as if we're gonna go with Sonny Styles (who had a great combine) but if he was available and we didnt take Love at #4 and then let Pollard go next year I think its a mistake. The offense needs a bit of explosivness and he could be fun to pair with Cam Ward,and hes a better pick in my eyes than the WRs in this class. Quote

The Jimbo Covert thing was obviously a misdirect, but Dillon Thieneman looks like a decent choice. I'm not sure they initially thought he'd still be available at 25, but them again who thought that the Rams would take a QB. Quote
Paid Members I Bent My Wookie Posted April 24 Paid Members Posted April 24 If David Bailey can learn to defend the run as well as being an elite college level pass rush, he can be a real standout for us next year (or someone else in 3 years like most Jets early picks). Drafting up to pick Omar Cooper Jr felt a bit random unless they heard rumblings of him getting picked, but I'm happier taking Sadiq at 16 as a compromise to not taking Lemon. His highlight reel shows a TE thats willing to block, and block well and that alone could be important to whoever we draft to realistically replace Breece Hall if he does finally move. It'll be interesting to see if we do bother to draft a QB or if we wait until next year. But unless we're looking to either tank again or draft up using our three picks to get one of the elite showing up next year its a risk. Quote
Paid Members seph Posted April 24 Paid Members Posted April 24 Rams taking Ty Simpson at the first chance means Jimmy G won't be back (and may be done overall). I think there is some risk to Simpson's development if this is Stafford's last year as it's better that guidance and expertise comes from several vets. We still need to replace Rob Havenstein on the OL after his retirement and several key players elsewhere (Adams, Young to name two) are in their contract year. Quote

His good is very good. It's a great situation for him to be going into. Doubt he'll ever be a superstar (although he is of course a #SonOfACoach) but he could definitely turn into a mid-level starter or a high-level backup. Quote
