We have a prediction league and I thought I'd see if we have enough interest in actual NFL chat.

So let's start with the Dolphins. Releasing Tua and paying him $99 million to do one is some insane business. That money is going to be split over the next two years of their cap and you've got to figure it's going to cripple them even further. I know you can rebuild in quick time in the NFL but they aren't even getting any draft capital for him.

If I was Tua, with his history of concussion I'd go home and never play again. That has to be the smart move right.

I've not really followed the NFL for YEARS(last time I did it was still on C4!), but last year I started getting into it again(along with baseball).

I'm still getting my head around the current NFL landscape, but really looking forward to next season! Chose the 49'ers as my team back in the day, so will stick with those(have they got a chance of winning anything this year)?

Can you let me know what the reasoning is behind paying a play $99m to get rid of a player? Unless he's going to be injured, wouldnt it be better to keep him even as a back up, rather than just dump him and throw the money away?

C'mon Lion - general American Football discussion surely? Where else is Sun Belt scheduling chat supposed to go...?

The Chicago Bears may be moving their franchise to Indianapolis. Hopefully the Bears and the Chicago, IL government can work out a deal to keep the Bears in Chicago.

Last season seemed to be a wild one for the NFL. The whole season was full of highscoring games. Tne Bears had a bit of a breakout season withe their 2nd year QB leading his team to a number of late game comebacks.

Not quite moves like BigJagger. The Bears are looking to build a new stadium and have been for a while. It looked like it was going to be in Arlington but that fell through. The new stadium is going to be near Wolf Lake which is just across the state border in Indiana but will still be closer to Chicago than the Arlington stadium would have been that was in Illinois.

One of the guys on the college football podcast I listen to (who is a Bears fan) made the excellent point that it'll be Indiana state taxes paying for the stadium, but anyone travelling to the  games will very likely be staying in Chicago and putting money into the Illinois economy.

Back the original post, Tua's on his way to Atlanta. His first appearance in the Big Body Benz went OK, I recall:

Atlanta get to sign him for the league minimum and the Dolphins get to pay the rest which is crazy, but that's  the NFL for you. I hope Tua can stay healthy and that Atlanta build a better O-Line than the Dolphins.

As for the new Bears stadium, I hope it's a good one because Soldier Field is iconic.

Soldier Field is definitely an iconic venue. Surprisingly it's only been the Bears permanent home for around 50yrs. Unfortunately, the stadium has the smallest capacity in the NFL. Which necessitates the move to a new purpose built stadium. Hopefully there's still time for me to attend a Bears game at Soldier Field.

I've been to Soldier Field. Sadly to see Chicago Fire and not the Bears! Coldest place on earth though. Even in late April, people brought big coats and blankets. I was in my shorts after a pleasant day in Chicago!

I absolutely love the new single. Bad Moons is 8 minutes of pure bliss and the 4th album should be a cracker. Got tickets for Leeds in June too

That's fantastic but... what's your thoughts on the Maxx Crosby trade being cancelled by the Ravens due to failing his physical?

No. It's a thread to discuss American Football. You didn't specify the sport and not the band!
