I imagine there will be a polysynergistic tri-stream oriented engagement sphere, through which AEW's partners can execute value extraction opportunities within the live event space. AEW's allied marketing entities will provide unmatched offerings and carefully curated dynamic experiences to help them achieve maximum growth by the end of Q3. Probably merch tables and pop up stalls and that. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted July 22 Paid Members Posted July 22 Does Will Ospreay still charge people a tenner for him to give them a chop? Quote

WyattSheepMask Posted July 24 Posted July 24 £72 for the Fan Experience thingy. £72 to get a picture with an “AEW Star”. Come on now, we all know it’ll end up being Kip Sabian. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted July 25 Paid Members Posted July 25 All In Tickets now available for Blue Light Card owners. I’ve already spotted someone online sharing the generic link and code, so essentially anyone can grab themselves a £1.50 ticket if they fancy it. See you at Wembley. Will Ospreay is kicking out of the One Winged Angel at one, whether he wants to or not. Quote

It's an awful phrase, but one I probably use ten times daily. Consider it like this; the partnership is dormant until something is done to 'activate' it. It used to mean anything (so an LED showing pitch side would count), but now it usually means something experiential or handed out at an event. Doesn't always have to be a partnership, either, if AEW had a brand touchpoint around Wembley (sorry for that phrase, too) that'd be a 'brand activation'. Yes, I hate myself. But no, I don't want to get a real job. Quote
Chico Torres Posted July 25 Posted July 25 (edited) No it still sounds like some meaningless PowerPoint presentation gobbledygook. Edited July 25 by Chico Torres Quote
DavidB6937 Posted July 25 Posted July 25 Activation AND touchpoint in the same post is like seeing Hangman and Marty in the same photo. Quote

Simple question, do I get a free t shirt or not? Quote

Simple question, do I get a free t shirt or not? Not necessarily. If shirt farm are handing out key rings or anything else, or doing some game you can play or interact with (without a freebie), it's still an activation in the jargon. When I used to work with DAZN and Bellator, we used to schlep a robotic punching machine around to events and people would queue up to try and give it a whack. As they queued up a team of volunteers would try and get their email addresses. No one got anything, but it's still an activation. At our Final this year, eToro brought one of those boards with holes in and people tried to lob rugby balls through them for the chance to enter a prize draw. Activation. Like, I get its jargon. I don't fully understand why everyone gets cross about it though, every profession has jargon. It's just always weird when companies use it in consumer facing copy. Like when The Rock used to call himself a disruptor openly. Edited July 25 by d-d-d-dAz Quote
