Gimmick Battle Royal - 2025

Seeing as they're on the books I'd have a little bit of TNA, Abyss and Petey Williams (In Scotty Steiner gear). I bet Norman Smiley could still give us a big wiggle, too.

I don't want to see any of these 2000s gimps. The sequel to the Gimmick Battle Royal should still only be people who were part of the golden era.

1 - 123 Kid. Spoiler alert, he's going coast to coast, given he's the only person left with any stamina.

2 - 5 - Billy Gunn, Bart Gunn, Sparky Plugg & Hillbilly Jim. 3 lads in reasonable shape to structure the early bit around. Hillbilly to dance while they all get a breath.

6-10 - The Mountie, Haku, Smash, Koko Ware & The Warlord - A rough few minutes. Warlord to get eliminated in 10 seconds while being talked about as a favourite. Smash just to play the Demolition theme. Koko blew Mel Phillips for a spot.

11-15 - Red Rooster, Tito Santana, Nasty Boys & Repo Man - Tito will be able to work 5 years after he's dead. The Nasty's to get blown up just climbing in the ring. Quick change and Smash is out there again.

16-20 - Papa Shango, Marty Jannetty, Jake Roberts, Mr Hole In One & Honky Tonk Man. - Another quick change for Smash. Marty doesn't make it to the ring, he gets fired in the entrance way for old times sake and walks off on his ankles. Honky Sings, then Shango sets him on fire.

Like the names, it's a battle royal though rather than a royal rumble so they would all be in at the same time!

It all started with Murdoch getting up on the announce table following (I think) a defeat and singing Friends in Low Places.

It led to him having a short singles push where he had a country singer gimmick of sorts, and he would sing after matches.

I know it’s a bit of fun but I can’t believe somebody has suggested Ricky Ortiz. Looking forward to Bam Neely making an appearance and then eliminated by Jackson Andrews.

I had to google Ortiz, and I only vaguely recognise him even then. But I see that he’s married to Layla El, so I’d have been too resentful of his good fortune to even consider giving him a place in this prestigious match.

There’s about 5 there that wouldn’t fall into the “vaguely physically fit” criteria.

Unless Jannetty is doing the Zach Gowen gimmick.
